Tuberculous spondylitis

Tuberculous spondylitis

Tuberculous spondylitis can be said to be a more serious spinal disease. It is very similar to ankylosing spondylitis, but there are also certain differences. After suffering from tuberculous spondylitis, patients not only often feel back pain, but also need to take X-rays during detailed examinations. The X-rays generally show that the spine is very blurred. So what should I do if I have tuberculous spondylitis?

Tuberculous spondylitis is most similar to ankylosing spondylitis, but X-ray examination can be used to distinguish it. In tuberculous spondylitis, the edges of the spine are blurred, the intervertebral disc becomes narrower, the anterior cuneate shape is changed, there is no ligament calcification, and sometimes there is a shadow of paraspinal tuberculous abscess, and the sacroiliac joint is unilaterally affected. Below I will briefly introduce the clinical manifestations of tuberculous spondylitis:

1. Low back pain is a common symptom of ankylosing spondylitis. Early low back pain manifests as discomfort or dull pain in the lumbar and sacral region, or as a feeling of discomfort deep in the buttocks.

2. Mild systemic symptoms may also occur, such as fatigue, long-term or intermittent low-grade fever, anorexia, etc. As the disease is mild, most patients do not take it seriously, leading to failure to detect it early, delaying the disease and losing the best time for treatment.

3. Manifestations of joint lesions: AS patients often have joint lesions, and most of them first invade the sacroiliac joints and then progress upward to the cervical spine. In a small number of patients, the cervical spine or several spinal segments are first affected, and the surrounding joints may also be affected. In the early stage, there is inflammatory pain in the joints at the lesion site, accompanied by muscle spasms around the joints and a feeling of stiffness, which is more obvious in the morning.

The above is the relevant introduction. I hope that the above explanation will be helpful to the patients. If you want to know more, you can go to a regular hospital to consult a professional doctor. I wish the patients a speedy recovery and a happy life. For more details, you can also refer to other related information to ensure scientific and rational use of medication.
