Urine routine test shows high levels of red blood cells, white blood cells, and epithelial cells

When conducting medical examinations clinically, it is also very necessary to check urine routine tests. Many diseases require urine routine tests. The values of red blood cells, white blood cells and epithelial cells in urine routine tests are all for people's reference. When the red blood cells, white blood cells and epithelial cells show high levels in a routine urine test, it may also indicate that something is wrong with the body and you should pay attention to examination and treatment.

1. Occult blood

Clinical significance: Positive or increased, seen in urinary system stones, infection, tumors, acute and chronic nephritis, thrombocytopenic purpura, hemophilia, etc.

2. Epithelial cells

Normal human urine may contain a small amount of exfoliated epithelial cells. The number of epithelial cells in the urine increased significantly, suggesting that there was a lesion at the site where the cells fell off.

① Squamous epithelial cells: They come from the urethra. The presence of these cells in urine indicates inflammation on the surface of the urethral mucosa. A small amount has no clinical significance.

②Small round epithelial cells: come from the renal tubules. It can also come from the deep layers of the mucosa in any part of the urinary tract. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the location of the lesion when these cells appear in the urine. If such cells are seen in casts, it is a strong basis for diagnosing renal tubular disease. In the case of rejection after kidney transplantation, sheets of small round epithelial cells may also appear in the urine.

③ Tail-shaped epithelial cells: mostly come from the renal pelvis, and sometimes from the ureter and bladder neck. It is difficult to determine the location of the lesion when these cells appear in the urine.

An elevated level of red blood cells in urine tests is also commonly referred to as hematuria, but hematuria is not always visible to the naked eye. Since there are many causes of hematuria, friends should go to a regular hospital for further examination in time to find out the root cause before eliminating this situation.

3. White blood cells

High white blood cell count is probably caused by inflammation. Drinking too little water, having low immunity, or having overly rough sex may all lead to urinary tract obstruction. Especially for women, sexual activity is an important cause. The short, wide, and straight urethra of women also makes them more susceptible to infection. Masturbation may also be an important reason.
