Capillary nevus is a very common disease in daily life. It often occurs in newborn babies and mainly occurs unilaterally. Because of its appearance, it is also called port-wine stain or nevus flammeus. Its treatment methods mainly include laser therapy, hormone therapy and radiotherapy. Friends in need need to choose the appropriate treatment method according to their actual situation and seek medical treatment in time to recover health as soon as possible. 1. Capillary nevus Capillary nevus, also known as port-wine stain or port-wine stain, often appears at birth or shortly after birth. It often occurs on the face, neck, and scalp. It is mostly unilateral, occasionally bilateral, and sometimes involves the mucosa. The lesions initially appear as several light red, dark red or purple-red patches of varying sizes, irregular in shape, with clear boundaries, not protruding above the skin surface, with visible capillary dilation, partial or complete fading when pressed, and a smooth surface. With age, the color deepens to red and then purple. In 65% of patients, the lesions will gradually expand, thicken and form nodules before the age of 40, and are prone to bleeding after trauma. 2. Treatment Methods The first one is laser therapy. In recent years, laser therapy has become very popular for vascular diseases. Utilizing the huge energy generated by the laser, the skin pigment tissue at the capillary nevus can be decomposed rapidly in a short period of time. After decomposition, it will be absorbed by the body's own cells and then excreted from the body through the body's metabolism. The second type is hormone treatment. Capillary nevus is mostly caused by problems with endocrine function. We can perform local hormone injections or oral hormone medications to improve the balance in the body. When balance is achieved in the body, the immune system will be enhanced accordingly, which will then fight against the disease and achieve a healing effect. The third type is radiotherapy, which aims the radiation source at the site of the capillary nevus and uses the radiation source to cause necrosis of the diseased cells in the affected area, thereby achieving the effect of recovery. Generally, this method is not recommended for children because the radiation can also cause damage to other beneficial cells in the human body. Children's bodies are not fully developed, so using this method can cause great harm. |
