What should I do if chewing gum is stuck on my shoes?

Chewing gum can help people remove bad breath in their mouths, and there are many flavors of chewing gum, and sour and sweet flavors are very popular. Although chewing gum tastes good, it will cause a lot of trouble if you throw away the chewed gum randomly. For example, if chewing gum gets stuck on your shoes, it will make your shoes very dirty and make it inconvenient to walk, etc. This requires us to take some useful measures in time. So what should you do if your shoes are stuck with chewing gum?

Tools and Materials:

Hair dryer, refrigerator, toothpick, sand, etc.

How to operate

1. Use a hair dryer

Of course, it is definitely not convenient to use a hair dryer on the street, so this method is suitable for use when you return home. When you get home, take a hair dryer and point it at the chewing gum on the sole of your shoe. Blow it vigorously. You will find that the damn chewing gum becomes soft and sticky. At this time, you can just wear rubber gloves to remove the chewing gum.

2. Refrigerator

Well, this method seems awkward when you think about it, but it is very effective and not troublesome. Seal your gum-stained shoes in a plastic bag and place them directly in the freezer. After freezing for an hour, take out the shoes and you will find that the chewing gum on the soles has become hard. You can use your hands or other things to remove the gum while it is still hard.

3. Rub it off directly

For example, a working woman may be wearing a beautiful dress and elegant high heels, walking happily on the road, but a piece of chewing gum gets stuck to the sole of her shoe, which is sticky and uncomfortable. At this time, you can't run home and freeze your shoes in the refrigerator, so find a place with sand and rub them with your shoes. When the chewing gum on the sole of your shoe is stuck with sand, just find a place with steps to rub it off. But remember to wrap the chewing gum you rub off in a tissue and throw it in the trash can.

4. Use olive oil

Although rubbing can temporarily prevent chewing gum from sticking to the sole of your shoe, it does not remove it completely. Once it dries, it is really difficult to remove. Find some olive oil at home, brush the soles of your shoes clean with a brush, find some cotton pads or cotton cloth, pour the olive oil on the cotton pads, and then rub the area where the chewing gum is. After one minute, you can use a nail or screwdriver to remove the chewing gum.

5. Anti-rust lubricant

This is usually available in supermarkets. It is the kind of anti-rust lubricant with a spray nozzle. Find it, spray it hard on the place where the chewing gum is, and use the oiliness and great impact force of the lubricant to easily move the chewing gum that is firmly stuck to the sole of the shoe. After a few minutes, the chewing gum can be easily removed.

Of course, if you don’t need anti-rust lubricant at home, there is no need to run to the supermarket to buy a bottle and take it home, right? So, there must be a bottle of peanut butter in the kitchen, right? Just spread the peanut butter on the gum and wait about ten minutes. After ten minutes, it is best to use a wire brush to gently brush off the chewing gum.

6.Sand removal

When you get home, grab a handful of sand and sprinkle it on the gum, whether it's in a flowerpot or somewhere else. While scattering the sand, find something to press it down until all the gum stuck on your shoes is covered with sand. Find a toothpick to press down the sand, press and pick it up at the same time. Repeat this several times and you will find that the chewing gum has turned into sand candy. At this time, you can just pick it off with a toothpick.
