Is it serious if the tendons on the instep are broken

The feet bear the entire weight of our body. Sometimes in life, due to various reasons, some injuries will be caused to the instep. In serious cases, the tendons on the instep are broken. When this happens, you must go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time, and use medication and correct treatment under the guidance of a doctor. And in life, you should take care of the injured instep to relieve the condition as soon as possible.

Is it serious if the tendon on the instep is broken?

This type of injury is relatively serious. The tendon controls the movement of the toes. If it is ruptured, it will affect the movement of the toes. In this case, surgical treatment is required to connect the tendon, and plaster fixation is required after the operation. During the treatment, be careful not to move your toes too early, as active functional exercises will be needed in the later stages.

How to repair a broken tendon on the instep

Method 1

After the plaster is removed during surgery, you should do some exercises to move your heels and ankle joints within half a month. Straighten your feet every day, hold your toes with your hands and slowly stretch them up and down. At the same time, hold your feet underneath and gently rotate them clockwise.

Method 2

At the same time, you can get out of bed and walk around appropriately. There will be some swelling and pain at the beginning, so you can use crutches to gain leverage, put gravity on the uninjured foot, and slowly start to move little by little. Don't walk too far at the beginning, and stretch your feet higher when you sleep to promote blood flow.

Method three: When doing training, don’t give up because of fear of pain. If the pain is severe during this period, you can apply some Chinese medicine to improve it. At the same time, you can soak your feet in hot water every day. It is best to use boiling water with some salt in it, and soak your feet for a longer time each time.

Precautions

1. After the operation, patients should not be afraid of pain and dare not walk, nor should they be impatient for results and do a lot of training. During this period, they should also eat a light diet and avoid eating irritating foods.

2. After surgery for a ruptured instep tendon, do not apply hot compresses or massages. Eat more nutritional supplements to replenish your body. Focus on bed repair training and do not do strenuous exercise out of bed. You must pay more attention. If the tendon does not recover well, it will be difficult for you to walk in the future.
