What are the sources of air pollution?

In modern life, people are facing great environmental threats because as people's production capacity increases, they continue to generate large amounts of garbage, causing great damage to the environment. Among them, air pollution is the most obvious manifestation, and it is also one of the results of human activities, posing a great threat to people's health. Let's take a look at the sources of air pollution. I hope everyone can understand.

Air pollution sources refer to production processes, equipment, objects or places that emit substances into the atmosphere that are sufficient to have harmful effects on the environment. It has two meanings. On the one hand, it refers to the "source of pollutants" and on the other hand, it refers to the "source of pollutants".

The sources of air pollution can be divided into two categories: natural and man-made. Natural pollution sources are caused by natural reasons (such as volcanic eruptions, forest fires, etc.), while man-made pollution sources are caused by people's production and life activities. Among man-made pollution sources, they can be divided into fixed (such as chimneys, industrial exhaust pipes) and mobile (such as cars, trains, airplanes, and ships). Because man-made pollution sources are common and frequent, they attract more attention than natural pollution sources. The main sources of air pollution are:

⑴ Industrial enterprises Industrial enterprises are the main source of air pollution and one of the focuses of air health protection work. With the rapid development of industry, the types and quantities of air pollutants are increasing. Due to the differences in the nature, scale, process, raw materials and product types of industrial enterprises, the degree of air pollution they contribute is also different.

⑵ Domestic stoves and heating boilers In residential areas, with the concentration of population, a large number of civilian domestic stoves and heating boilers also need to consume a lot of coal, especially during the winter heating time, which often makes the polluted areas full of smoke. This is also a source of air pollution that cannot be ignored.

⑶ Transportation In recent decades, due to the development of transportation, the number of cars running in cities has increased, and passenger and cargo transportation by trains, ships, and airplanes has become frequent, which has added new sources of air pollution to cities. Among them, the exhaust gas emitted by cars is of great significance. The characteristic of automobile pollution of the atmosphere is that the pollutants it emits are very close to people's breathing zone and can be directly inhaled by people. The exhaust gas emitted by automobile internal combustion engines mainly contains carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxides, hydrocarbons (hydrocarbons), lead compounds, etc.
