What is the normal blood sugar level after dinner

Why do we need to measure blood sugar levels? This is because blood sugar levels have guiding significance for treating and observing diseases, especially for diabetics. The normal value of human blood sugar refers to a fasting blood sugar level of 3.9 to 6.1 mmol/L, and the blood sugar level that determines whether a person has diabetes is a fasting whole blood sugar level of more than 11.1 mol/L. Therefore, it is very important to monitor changes in blood sugar levels. Let's talk about what is a normal blood sugar level after dinner!

1. Normal fasting blood sugar value

① Generally, the fasting whole blood glucose level is 3.9-6.1 mmol/L (70-110 mg/dL), and the plasma glucose level is 3.9-6.9 mmol/L (70-125 mg/dL).

② Fasting whole blood glucose ≥6.7 mmol/L (120 mg/dL) and plasma glucose ≥7.8 mmol/L (140 mg/dL), repeated measurements twice can be diagnosed as diabetes.

③ When the fasting whole blood glucose is above 5.6 mmol/L (100 mg/dL) and the plasma glucose is above 6.4 mmol/L (115 mg/dL), a glucose tolerance test should be performed.

④ When fasting whole blood glucose exceeds 11.1 mmol/L (200 mg/dL), it means that insulin secretion is very little or lacking. Therefore, when fasting blood sugar is significantly elevated, diabetes can be diagnosed without the need for other tests.

2. Normal blood sugar level after meal

1 hour after meal: blood sugar 6.7-9.4 mmol/L. The maximum value does not exceed 11.1mmol/L (200mg/dl).

2 hours after meal: blood sugar ≤7.8 mmol/L.

3 hours after meal: Return to normal after the third hour, and each urine sugar is negative.

3. Normal blood sugar levels for pregnant women

① For pregnant women, fasting blood sugar should not exceed 5.1mmol/L.

② 1 hour after meal for pregnant women: The blood sugar level 1 hour after meal is generally used to detect diabetes in pregnant women. Authoritative data show that the normal blood sugar level for pregnant women should not exceed 10.0mmol/L 1 hour after meal.

③ 2 hours after a meal for pregnant women: The normal blood sugar level after a meal is generally not allowed to exceed 11.1mmol/L, and the normal blood sugar level for pregnant women 2 hours after a meal is not allowed to exceed 8.5mmol/L.
