1. Preparation of measuring instruments: measuring cylinder, scale, medicine spoon, medicine container (preferably enamel or plastic corrosion-resistant products), thermometer, etc.

2. Preparation of protective equipment: work clothes, masks, goggles, rubber gloves, rubber boots, towels, soap, etc.

3. The selection of disinfectants should be based on the properties of the surface of the disinfection object and the resistance of pathogenic microorganisms. Select disinfectants that are highly effective, low-toxic, easy to use and low-priced. Calculate the amount of disinfectant based on the area of ​​the disinfection object (such as the area of ​​the site, floor, walls and space size in the animal house, etc.).

Preparation of disinfectant - preparation method

1. Preparation of 75% alcohol solution: Use a measuring device to weigh 789.5 ml of 95% medical alcohol, add distilled water (or purified water) to dilute to 1000 ml, which is 75% alcohol. After preparation, store in a sealed container.

2. Preparation of 5% sodium hydroxide: Weigh 50 grams of sodium hydroxide, put it into a measuring vessel, add an appropriate amount of normal water (preferably 60-70°C hot water), stir to dissolve it, and then add water to 1000 ml. After preparation, keep it in a sealed container.

3. Preparation of 0.1% potassium permanganate: Weigh 1 gram of potassium permanganate, put it into a measuring vessel, add 1000 ml of water and allow it to fully dissolve.

4. Preparation of 3% Lysol: Take 3 parts of Lysol, put it into a measuring container, add 97 parts of clean water, mix well.

5. Preparation of 2% iodine tincture: Weigh 15 grams of potassium iodide, put it into a measuring vessel, add 20 milliliters of distilled water to dissolve it, then add 20 grams of iodine tablets and 500 milliliters of ethanol, stir to fully dissolve it, then add distilled water to 1000 milliliters, stir well, filter, and you have it.

6. Preparation of iodine glycerin: Weigh 10 grams of potassium iodide, add 10 milliliters of distilled water to dissolve it, then add 10 grams of iodine, stir to fully dissolve it, add glycerin to 1000 milliliters, stir well, and you have it.

7. Preparation of slaked lime (quicklime): Put 1 kg of quicklime (calcium oxide) into a container, add 350 ml of water, and the powder formed is slaked lime, which can be spread on damp ground, sewage pools, around manure fields, etc. for disinfection.

8. Preparation of 20% lime milk: 1 kg of quicklime plus 5 kg of water will make 20% lime milk. It is best to use ceramic jars or wooden barrels when preparing. First, weigh an appropriate amount of quicklime and put it into a container. Slowly add a small amount of water (350 ml) to the quicklime. Wait for a while until the lime becomes powdered slaked lime. Then add the remaining 4650 ml of water and stir well to form 20% lime milk.
