What is the pelvis

What is the pelvis

Some people do some special exercises when they exercise, because these exercises can not only improve our physical fitness, but also help us exercise the energy of various parts of the body and even build muscles. The pelvis is very important to us because in many cases our pelvis needs to help us disperse a certain amount of body weight. So what is the pelvis?

Where is the female pelvis located?

The pelvis is composed of the falcon and the medullary bones on both sides. It is shaped like a basin, so it is called the pelvis. It is divided into two parts: the upper large pelvis and the lower small pelvis. The human pelvis is located at the hip joint in the lower abdomen regardless of gender or whether the woman is pregnant or not. The only difference is the shape and function of the pelvis between men and women.

The simple understanding is that it is a whole from where we tie our belts to the position above the thigh bone, shaped like a basin. The child sleeps in this basin-like cradle, and the lower opening of the pelvis is where the child is born. Of course, the larger the pelvis, the easier it is for the child to give birth naturally. At the same time, people with a large pelvis will have larger buttocks, which is one of the most important features of a woman's sexiness.

What is the relationship between the female pelvis and childbirth?

The pelvis is the necessary path for women to give birth to a baby vaginally. It is composed of the sacrum, coccyx, and hip bones, and is connected by joints and ligaments. The pelvis is divided into two parts, upper and lower. The upper part is wide and has little to do with childbirth (called the false pelvis in obstetrics); while the lower part is very closely related to childbirth (called the true pelvis). The so-called "bony birth canal" refers to this part. The true pelvis is divided into three planes according to its relationship with childbirth, namely the inlet, middle cavity and outlet planes. These three planes are relatively narrow parts, and the fetus may encounter resistance during delivery, especially the mid-cavity plane, which is the narrowest part.

The size and shape of the pelvis have a great impact on the difficulty and ease of childbirth. It, together with labor force and the fetus, constitute the three elements of childbirth. With a normal pelvis, if there are no abnormalities in the labor force and the fetus, the fetus can be delivered easily. The pelvis is obviously narrow and a living fetus cannot be delivered at all. A relatively narrow pelvis often depends on the fetus and labor conditions.

The female pelvis is an indispensable part of the birth canal and is closely related to the delivery process of the fetus. Therefore, women should have a certain understanding of the position, size, structure, etc. of the female pelvis and be clear about its general function. Of course, if a woman is planning to have a baby, she not only needs to understand the pelvis, but also needs to know more about pregnancy and childbirth.
