Can scrub remove chicken skin? How to effectively remove chicken skin?

Chicken skin is a skin disease, also known as keratosis follicularis. It usually occurs on the arms, thighs and other parts of the body. In severe cases, the calves, back and cheeks may also be affected. The main manifestation is acne in the affected area. Chicken skin cannot be completely removed, so using a scrub will not cure it. However, chicken skin can be relieved through other methods. Here are some effective methods for removing chicken skin.

1. Can scrub remove chicken skin?

Chicken skin cannot be removed. Many people will apply some scrubs, acids and other products externally after chicken skin appears. In fact, this is not advisable. Scrubbing or other friction will only aggravate inflammation and worsen the condition of chicken skin.

2. The main symptoms of chicken skin

Keratosis pilaris is a very common skin problem, which mainly occurs on the outer side of the upper arm and the extensor side of the thigh. In severe cases, it may even occur on the outer side of the elbow and the extensor side of the calf. It looks like there is keratin accumulation at the opening of the hair follicles. In severe cases, there may be redness or swelling around the area, which may make people mistakenly think that they have many blackheads and inflamed pimples on their arms or thighs. However, if you force yourself to squeeze it, it will cause red spots. If the pores are red little by little, and even feel raised to the touch, this is keratosis pilaris.

In more serious cases, the pores will be darker in color, appearing dark red or brown, and the particles will be rougher, looking like goose bumps. The most common areas where it appears are the outer side of the upper arms, thighs, and neck. Some people even have symptoms of follicular keratosis on their entire back and cheeks.

3. Steps to remove chicken skin

If you want to remove keratosis pilaris, you must first dissolve the cuticle, so you can use scrub, loofah, exfoliating brush, etc. when taking a bath, but be sure not to overuse it!

More important than exfoliation is the use of body lotion to maintain keratosis pilaris. Keratosis pilaris is a very special type of skin that lacks both water and oil. Using ordinary body lotions will not be very effective. You must use a specially moisturizing body lotion to achieve the effect of hydrating and skin care for keratosis pilaris.

People with keratosis pilaris should not use water that is too hot when taking a bath, even in winter. The water temperature should generally be kept at 40 degrees, because hot water can easily take away the oil on the surface of the skin, which is undoubtedly a further blow to people with keratosis pilaris who are short of water and oil. It is recommended that women with keratosis pilaris do not need to take a bath every day in winter, but once every 2-3 days is sufficient.

After completing the daily maintenance of keratosis follicularis, the next step is the treatment of keratosis follicularis. For particularly severe cases of keratosis pilaris, products containing salicylic acid are generally used for treatment. Salicylic acid itself is fat-soluble, so it can go along the opening of the hair follicles and follow the skin oil to reach the keratinized area, thereby dissolving the keratin and improving the symptoms.
