Safety tips for babies

The growth of a baby is not only a responsibility for the family, but also requires attention to the baby's physical health. Many children often exhibit bad behaviors, which can easily lead to danger if not stopped in time. In particular, children should not sleep on their stomachs, try not to crawl in sharp places, and should not be placed in high places. When the mother falls asleep alone, the children at home must be placed in a safe place.

1. Remember not to let your baby sleep with his head covered or lying on his stomach

Whether the baby sleeps alone or with the mother, do not cover his head with clothes or blankets. Because young children have weak arms, it is difficult for them to lift heavy clothes and quilts, and they can easily suffer from suffocation and death.

a) There was once an 8-month-old baby boy who turned over during his sleep and fell asleep on his stomach. Because the baby boy was very fat, his mouth and nose were blocked and he was unable to turn over, eventually dying of suffocation. The baby boy's mother went into the room and saw that the baby was sleeping on his stomach. She did not pay attention to him, which led to the tragic death of the baby.

b) Another case is that the baby sleeps with the mother. Because the mother was asleep, the adult's thick quilt pressed heavily on the baby's body. When the mother turned over, the thick quilt covered the baby's mouth and nose, causing the baby to have respiratory distress and eventually die.

2. There should be a fence around the bed or a carpet on the floor

We all know that babies can learn to crawl when they are 6 months old. According to my conversations with most mothers, most babies have fallen off the bed, and more than once or twice.

a) When Xinxin, a baby girl living upstairs, was 9 months old, she fell off the bed in the middle of the night. Unfortunately, there was a toy on the floor. Xinxin had both of her arms broken and had to wear bandages at only 9 months old. I heard she cried for a long time.

b) My second baby also fell off the bed when he was 8 months old. Because he was asleep, I carried him to the bed, covered him up and walked out of the room. In less than a minute, I heard a loud "bang" coming from the room. I rushed into the room in panic and saw Erbao lying on the ground, crying loudly. It really makes me feel bad. This is the downside of having a bed without a fence. I immediately covered the entire room with floor mats, so that even if I fell in the future, there would be a cushion as the floor is soft after all.

3. Windows must have guardrails

Many babies like to stand on the windowsill and look at the scenery outside through the window, which can easily put them in danger of falling. Families living in high-rise buildings should install sturdy railings.

a) A four-year-old baby was sleeping, and his grandfather went out to fetch water, thinking that it would only be a hundred meters away and he would be back soon. But after the baby woke up and didn't see his grandfather, he climbed up to the window and unfortunately fell down and died. Their home was on the fourth floor.

b) A two-year-old baby climbed out of the balcony window while playing and fell from the second floor, bleeding profusely. The balcony window on the second floor is about 3 meters from the ground. Fortunately, there was a green belt below with soil, and the rescue was timely, so there was no serious problem.
