How to disinfect your home

How to disinfect your home

Disinfection is not just something that happens in hospitals, families should also have this awareness, but how to disinfect your home and what to use to disinfect at home? When I go to the hospital, there is always a smell of disinfectant. Generally, 84 disinfectant is used, but you can also use this disinfectant at home. For household disinfection, you can choose peracetic acid, and for cleaning tableware, it is generally better to boil it in boiling water for about half an hour.

The correct method of household disinfection

1. Moderate cleaning: The more frequently you clean, the better. It is sufficient to spray 0.5% peracetic acid and 84 disinfectant, alternating between use every three days. If your home is always clean, once a week is enough.

2. Pay attention to protection: Wearing a mask and rubber gloves when using can greatly reduce the harm of chemical substances.

For your health and money, in addition to using sterilization cleaning products reasonably, you might as well try some gentle cleaning methods, which can remove harmful bacteria while retaining beneficial bacteria as much as possible to make us healthier.

House cleaning

In fact, just use 70% alcohol, diluted household bleach or household chlorine bleach made by adding one cup of chlorine to 5 liters of water to scrub countertops and other surfaces three times a week to fight off germs. It is not only simple and convenient, but also safe and reliable. (Note: Desks, dining tables, office desks, computer keyboards, mice and telephones have 400 times more bacteria on their surfaces than toilet seats!

Dishwashing

1. Boil: After the water boils, put the tableware in and cook for 15 to 20 minutes. But when cooking, remember that the water must cover the dishes being cooked. This method is simple and safe. If the utensils have been used by a patient with viral hepatitis, they can be boiled for 20 to 30 minutes.

Soaking: Soak in 0.5% peracetic acid for 30 minutes, or soak in 5% bleaching powder supernatant (the clean water on top after the bleaching powder is precipitated) for 30 to 60 minutes. You can also soak it in a cleaning agent containing 200 mg/L of effective chlorine for 5 to 10 minutes, then take it out and rinse it with clean water. The sterilized items should be completely immersed during soaking.

2. Rice soup: Rice soup and rice washing water not only have strong cleaning power, but also do not contain chemicals and will not eliminate beneficial bacteria.

In addition, there are still many suitable options and methods for cleaning and sterilization at home:

1. Sunlight: There is a saying in the West: "Sunlight is the best disinfectant." Sunlight contains ultraviolet rays and infrared rays, and 3 to 6 hours of exposure can achieve the purpose of disinfection.

2. Alcohol: Alcohol can denature and coagulate bacterial proteins. Therefore, 75% alcohol can be used to disinfect the skin, or tableware can be disinfected by soaking for 30 minutes.

3. Steamer: Suitable for disinfecting clothes and tableware, etc. It should be calculated from the time the water boils and steam comes out. The purpose of sterilization can be achieved in 15 to 20 minutes.

4. Garlic: Use two raw garlics, peel them and soak them in half a pound of vinegar for 3 days. It will have a miraculous effect in killing bacteria and disinfecting.

5. Plant and essential oils: The antibacterial effects of many essential oils (such as lavender and thyme) are even greater than phenol, and they will not cause drug resistance like some commonly used disinfectant chemicals. They are both healthy and effective, and are very suitable for cleaning cutting boards.

6. White vinegar and lemon juice: They are both acidic and can neutralize alkaline substances such as hard water. They can also dissolve sticky blocks and remove rust and dust on the surface of wood. They are safe, simple, and have good stain removal ability.

Clean air

1. Make your own "disinfectant": Heat white vinegar and fumigate the house, or use wormwood sticks to fumigate the house, both of which are good ways to disinfect the air.

2. Ventilation: The most effective and safest method is to open windows for a long time to ventilate and change the air, because any kind of pathogen is difficult to survive under good ventilation conditions.
