What is the reason for breast milk

There are both physiological and pathological reasons for the breasts to secrete milk. We know that under normal circumstances, a mother will naturally secrete milk to feed her baby after giving birth. However, some diseases may also cause the breasts to secrete milk, such as breast hyperplasia and lacrimal duct ectasia. In addition, breast trauma or some inflammation may also cause this situation.

Foods that support weaning

In addition to typical milk-reducing foods, such as barley tea, maltose, leeks, pepper, aniseed (fennel), MSG, ginseng, hawthorn, chocolate, bitter melon, etc. It should be noted that there are also foods that are too raw, cold, or spicy, so you don't need to be too strict with your diet. After paying attention to what foods can cause weaning, experts remind us that when weaning, we should avoid foods that promote milk secretion, such as peanuts, pig's trotters, crucian carp, soups, etc. Otherwise, we will get half the result with twice the effort.

Things to note when weaning

1. If your breasts are swollen and uncomfortable, you can squeeze out the milk, but don't squeeze it out completely, otherwise it will promote milk secretion and have the opposite effect.

2. During the weaning period, you should pay attention to reducing stimulation to the breasts and nipples. The secretion of prolactin will decrease accordingly, and the secretion of milk will gradually decrease. Never let your baby suck your breast milk or touch it, and avoid using hot water to rinse your breasts when taking a shower.

3. You can use ice packs to cool your breasts to relieve the feeling of swelling.

4. If you find a lump in your breast, rub it with your hands in time to prevent mastitis.

5. When choosing diet during weaning, you should avoid foods that promote milk secretion, such as peanuts, pig's trotters, crucian carp, soups, etc., and eat less protein-rich foods, which can reduce milk secretion. During the weaning period, you should also pay attention to reducing the water intake in your diet.

6. You must be patient during the weaning period. No matter how much the baby cries or makes a fuss, do not let the baby suck intermittently. Do not rub chili peppers or other irritating things on the nipples. If you squeeze milk due to swelling and pain, this will inevitably prolong the weaning time.

7. Try to avoid using hormone drugs or milk-suppressing injections, as they can easily cause breast atrophy or breast secretion problems.
