Patients with bedsores should be cared for in this way

Bedsores are ulcers on the skin caused by long-term pressure on the human body or long-term bed rest. Bedsores can easily lead to bleeding or wound infection, and can easily endanger life. The care of bedsores is very important. In daily life, the bedsore area should be kept clean. It can be cleaned and applied with medicine regularly, kept dry and gout-proof, and you can eat more light foods.

Bedsore Care

Keeping the bed flat, clean, dry, and free of debris is also an important part of preventing and treating bedsores, as is keeping the patient's skin clean and dry. In general, 50% alcohol should be used regularly to massage the skin of protruding bones, such as the sacrum, hips, occipital area, scapulae, elbows, heels, etc., to promote local blood circulation and avoid or reduce the occurrence of bedsores.

Supplement nutrition, maintain a high-protein diet, and prevent the body from breaking down more than it synthesizes, so as to promote wound healing and achieve a more ideal recovery effect.

In addition to local dressing changes, infrared irradiation is also used. The irradiation distance should be about 30cm from the affected area, 1 to 2 times a day, each time for 30 minutes, which can also achieve significant results. During irradiation, the local condition should be observed at all times to prevent burns.

Diet and health for patients with bedsores

Give high-protein food

Eat more vegetable oils, such as peanut oil, sesame oil, soybean oil, rapeseed oil, etc., which have the effect of moisturizing the intestines and help relieve constipation

Choose foods rich in plant fiber, such as whole grains, vegetables, fruits, beans, etc.

Eat foods rich in vitamin B1, such as whole grains, beans, lean meat, animal offal, fresh vegetables, etc.

Eating fruit juice, fresh fruits, jam, honey, etc. can stimulate intestinal peristalsis.

Drink plenty of water and beverages to avoid dry stools.

Eat small and frequent meals to facilitate digestion and absorption.

Patients with indigestion, enteritis, diarrhea, and constipation should eat more yogurt.

Nursing care for bedsores

How to operate

Key points: support the center of gravity, use combined strength, do not grab or pinch, and look for gaps: avoid collisions and scratches, it is light, stable and labor-saving.

One-person low-effort turning method (turning from supine to left lateral position)

The nurse stands on the right side of the patient with legs 10-15cm apart to maintain balance and a constant center of gravity. Have the patient cross his or her hands and place them on his or her abdomen.

Move your upper body (the center of gravity of your upper body is on your shoulders and back). Use your right hand to slightly lift the patient's right shoulder, put your left hand into the shoulder, and support the neck with your palm and fingers; move your right hand to the back of the opposite left shoulder and use the combined force to lift the patient's upper body and move it to the near side.

Move your lower body (the center of gravity of your lower body is on your hips). Put the left hand into the patient's popliteal fossa, support the dorsum of the foot with the right hand, bend the knees and lower limbs; put the right hand down the leg to the coccyx, move the left hand to the opposite left buttocks, and use the combined force to lift the patient's lower body and move it to the proximal side.

Adjust your body position. Support the patient's back with the left hand and the knees with the right hand. Gently turn the patient over, lift the patient's right leg, flatten the pants, support the knees so that the patient bends the hips and knees and places him/her on the side of the bed; lift the left leg, flatten the pants and place him/her on the bed. Flatten the patient's clothes, support the patient's back and legs with soft pads, and assume a comfortable lying position. Turn from side-lying to supine, with the nurse standing on the patient's left side, following the same steps as above and adjusting the movements of both hands.
