What are the effects of Dalawon injection

With the improvement of people's living standards, there are more and more patients with cerebral infarction, especially showing a trend of younger patients. Cerebral infarction is a brain disease. We all know that the brain controls the body's movement and language functions. If the brain's motor function is damaged, there will be movement disorders, which is the common hemiplegia or paralysis. If the language function is damaged, there will be language disorders and loss of the ability to speak. Edaravone injection is a drug for the treatment of cerebral infarction.

Edaravone is a brain protective agent (free radical scavenger). Clinical studies suggest that N-acetylaspartate (NAA) is a specific marker of surviving nerve cells, and its content decreases sharply in the early stages of cerebral infarction. Edaravone can scavenge free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation, thereby inhibiting oxidative damage to brain cells, vascular endothelial cells, and nerve cells. It is mainly used to improve neurological symptoms, daily living activities and functional disorders caused by acute cerebral infarction.

Pharmacological Action

Edaravone is a brain protective agent (free radical scavenger). Clinical studies suggest that N-acetylaspartate (NAA) is a specific marker of surviving nerve cells, and its content decreases sharply in the early stages of cerebral infarction. Giving edaravone to patients in the acute stage of cerebral infarction can inhibit the decrease in local cerebral blood flow around the infarction, and significantly increase the NAA content in the brain on the 28th day after onset compared with the glycerol control group. Preclinical studies suggest that intravenous administration of edaravone to rats after ischemia/ischemia-reperfusion can prevent the progression of cerebral edema and cerebral infarction, alleviate the accompanying neurological symptoms, and inhibit delayed neuronal death. Mechanism studies suggest that edaravone can scavenge free radicals and inhibit lipid peroxidation, thereby inhibiting oxidative damage to brain cells, vascular endothelial cells, and neurons.

Indications

Used to improve neurological symptoms, daily living activities and functional disorders caused by acute cerebral infarction.

Drug interactions

1. When used in combination with antibiotics such as cefotaxime sodium, piperacillin sodium hydrochloride, and cefotiam sodium, renal failure may be aggravated. Therefore, multiple renal function tests and other observations are required when the drugs are used in combination.

2. In principle, this product must be diluted with normal saline (the concentration of edaravone can be reduced when mixed with various infusions containing sugar).

3. Do not mix with high-energy infusion or amino acid preparations or drip through the same channel (mixing may reduce the concentration of edaravone).

4. Do not mix with anti-epileptic drugs (diazepam, phenytoin sodium, etc.) (it will cause turbidity).

5. Do not mix with potassium canrenoate (it will cause turbidity).

Adverse Reactions

According to observations of 569 clinical cases in Japan, 26 cases (4.57%) experienced adverse reactions. The main manifestations were abnormal liver function in 16 cases (2.81%) and rash in 4 cases (0.70%). Among the 569 cases, 122 (21.4%) had abnormal changes in clinical test values, mainly abnormal liver function test values such as AST increase of 7.71% (43/558) and ALT increase of 8.23% (46/559).

Dosage

30 mg at a time, twice a day, diluted in an appropriate amount of normal saline and then intravenously dripped. The drip should be completed within 30 minutes. One course of treatment is within 14 days. Start medication within 24 hours of onset if possible
