What to do if a nail is broken

What to do if a nail is broken

Many people break their nails in their daily lives. If the broken nail is not serious, you just need to use nail clippers to cut off the broken nail. However, if the nail breakage is serious, you need to go to the hospital for treatment in time. Of course, we should also take good care of our nails in our daily lives. Below, I would like to recommend some nail care methods to you!

1. Wash your hands gently

Avoid scraping your nails with a hard-bristled brush or roughly scraping your nails against hard objects, as this will make your nails brittle and may also cause your nails to curl up and separate from the nail bed. When cleaning your nails, you can use soapy water or some professional hand cleaning products, such as Nail Cleaning and Antibacterial Liquid (for hand washing). At the same time, use soft cloth such as sponge to clean the surface, surrounding area and gaps of the nails.

2. Dietary protein supplement

Nails are made of protein. If white horizontal lines appear at the bottom of your nails, it may be a protein deficiency. You should eat more beans, seeds, nuts, eggs or meat.

3. Trim your nails regularly

Rub the edges of the nails until they are smooth and trim them into an oval shape. Nails that are too pointed will weaken their toughness and make them easy to break.

4. Do not do manicure too frequently

There is a layer of substance on the surface of nails that is similar to the enamel on the surface of teeth, which can protect them from corrosion. When filing off the surface layer of the nails during manicure, the fingers lose their protective layer and lose resistance to corrosion from acidic or alkaline substances. Therefore, frequent manicures can cause nail breakage and cause the nails to turn yellow or black. When the above conditions occur, it is necessary to use nail protection and antibacterial cream in time to supplement the nutrition of the nails. It is rich in cytokines, jojoba oil, collagen, amino acid moisturizers and other ingredients, which can fully replenish the moisture, oil and other nutrients needed by the nails, and form a protective film on the surface of the nails to protect the moisture on the surface of the nails from being easily lost.

5. Replenish water in time

Cold and dry weather will cause the nails to lose moisture quickly like other parts of the skin. Some people often do manicures and apply nail polish. If the nails are not replenished with nutrients and moisture in time, the nails will easily become dry, yellow, brittle and easy to break.
