The radius of the wrist is a very fragile joint in the human body. A fracture of the radius of the wrist can easily cause pain and inconvenience in the wrist. In addition to timely treatment, some rehabilitation training should also be done to help recovery. A fracture of the radius can easily cause many complications, so you need to move your fingers frequently, or practice wrist flexibility, and don't lift heavy objects normally. Rehabilitation after radial fracture 1. Finger joints (1) Bend your fingers toward the palm of your hand: You can bend each finger a little, but not all the way to the center of your palm. But being able to bend allows you to pick up large and light objects, such as bread. (2) Align the index finger and middle finger with the thumb in turn: the index finger and middle finger are OK. It takes a lot of effort to move the last two fingers, especially the little finger. (3) Straighten your fingers: You can straighten them, but it becomes more difficult to straighten them again after a while. (4) Fist: No. At its best, it still looks like an outstretched ghost claw. 2. Wrist (1) Up and down: It’s still about 10 degrees, and it hurts when you move a little. Try a little harder every day. (2) Left and right: I can move to the right with some ease, but I can’t move to the left at all. (3) Rotation: This is something I can only think about now, but I cannot do it. (4) Hold the pen with your bent arm and rotate your wrist: This is the three-month goal. Because radial head fractures are particularly prone to combined injuries and have many complications, simple radial head fractures often leave behind limited elbow flexion and extension and forearm rotation. Patients with combined medial collateral ligament injury, especially after radial head resection, may develop chronic ulnar neuritis. After the fracture, the joint movement is restricted and inflexible. The main cause of the sequelae of radial fracture is ligament injury, and surgical fixation also has an impact. If the ligaments are not repaired and healed, the joint movement will always be restricted. As long as the ligaments are repaired, normal movement can be restored. Fractures are usually fixed first, and then they will heal naturally. The cycle usually takes one month. Depending on the severity of the fracture, the hospitalization time will usually not exceed one week. Eating more fresh fruits can help the body recover, and eat more protein-rich foods. There are generally no sequelae of radial fractures, but everyone also needs to pay attention to the following two points: 1. The comminuted fracture of the distal radius has lasted for more than 2 months, and the effect of plaster reduction and fixation is not ideal. In this case, there is an indication for surgery, but the surgical methods include open reduction and plate internal fixation, closed reduction or limited open reduction. The method of Kirschner wire fixation combined with external fixation is the main method at present. 2. Distal radius fractures are difficult to treat. It is unlikely that the wrist joint will return to its state before the injury, but as long as you actively treat it, it should be able to improve a lot. |
