What are the symptoms of gastric mucosal detachment

What are the symptoms of gastric mucosal detachment

There are many reasons for the shedding of gastric mucosa, such as the adverse stimulation of long-term medication, or a diet that is too rough. In addition, gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers can cause the shedding of gastric mucosa. When this symptom occurs, the patient often experiences abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, thirst, and oliguria, and a drop in blood pressure. In severe cases, symptoms of vomiting blood may also occur.

What are the symptoms of gastric mucosal detachment?

1. Upper abdominal pain in the left middle or around the umbilicus, with paroxysmal aggravation or persistent dull pain, accompanied by abdominal fullness and discomfort. A few patients experience severe pain.

2. Nausea and vomiting. Vomitus is undigested food. You will feel better after vomiting. Some patients may even vomit yellow bile or stomach acid.

3. Diarrhea occurs in people with enteritis and stops as stomach symptoms improve. The stools may be loose or watery.

4. Dehydration is caused by repeated vomiting and diarrhea, which leads to excessive water loss. Symptoms include poor skin elasticity, sunken eyeballs, thirst, and oliguria. In severe cases, blood pressure drops and the limbs become cold.

5. A small number of patients have blood in their vomitus or coffee-colored vomit, black stools or a positive fecal occult blood test. This indicates bleeding in the gastric mucosa.

6. Fever, headache, general malaise and varying degrees of poisoning symptoms are common.

7. The physical signs are not obvious, there is tenderness in the upper abdomen and around the umbilicus, no muscle tension and rebound pain, and the bowel sounds are mostly hyperactive.

8. The onset is acute, with frequent nausea and vomiting, severe abdominal pain, and frequent diarrhea, which is mostly watery and may contain undigested food, a small amount of mucus, and even blood.

9. In addition, headache, fever, chills and muscle pain are also common symptoms. In a few severe cases, dehydration may occur due to frequent vomiting and diarrhea.

If you experience the above symptoms, you should be cautious because these symptoms are reminding you that you may have acute gastritis. Next, you should go to the hospital to see a doctor and take medication under the doctor's guidance. Only early detection and early treatment can prevent acute gastritis from developing into chronic gastritis due to delayed treatment.

Causes of gastric mucosal shedding

1. Long-term use of drugs or foods that irritate the stomach, eating rough foods or smoking, etc. These factors repeatedly act on the gastric mucosa, causing it to become congested and edematous.

2. Long-term congestion and hypoxia of gastric mucosa. For example, in patients with congestive heart failure or portal hypertension, the gastric mucosa is in a state of congestion and hypoxia for a long time, causing nutritional disorders and leading to gastritis.

3. If acute gastritis is not treated properly, it may turn into chronic gastritis if it is not cured.

4. Lack of gastric acid makes it easy for bacteria to multiply in the stomach, which can also cause chronic gastritis.

5. Nutritional deficiency, endocrine dysfunction and immune dysfunction can cause chronic gastritis.

6. Gastrointestinal Campylobacter infection and other factors may be the cause of chronic gastritis.

7. The effects of bacteria and their toxins. Because bacteria or toxins from infected lesions in the nose, mouth, throat and other parts of the body are constantly swallowed into the stomach, or because of the lack of gastric acid in the stomach, bacteria can easily multiply in the stomach, and long-term effects can cause chronic gastritis.

8. Mental factors. Excessive mental stimulation, depression and other mental factors repeatedly act on the cerebral cortex, causing cerebral cortex dysfunction, leading to spasmodic contraction of the blood vessels in the gastric wall, and inflammation or ulcers of the gastric mucosa.
