What are some simple ways to identify red wine

There are many fake red wines on the market. The taste and mouthfeel are completely different, and may even harm people's health after drinking. Therefore, it is very important to know how to identify red wine. However, most people cannot easily judge the quality of a bottle of red wine through intuitive vision. In fact, if you want to identify it, you must first look at the overall color. If the color is correct, then you can carefully taste the overall taste of the red wine.

Simple method:

Wine identification is very complicated. Generally speaking, there are a few points.

1. Wine is made from ripe grapes, so it should have a very pure fruity aroma that makes people feel happy. Although it has the aroma of wine, the mixture of wine and fruit aroma is still very pleasant and will not produce a pungent feeling, otherwise it is not a good wine.

2. The pigment of red wine should come from anthocyanins in grape skins, so when alkaline flour is added, it will turn blue-black and a large number of bubbles will overflow. The bubbles are carbon dioxide produced by the reaction of alkaline flour and fruit acid. If it only turns blue or black, or only bubbles overflow, it is fake wine. However, if bubbles appear and the wine turns blue-black, it cannot be confirmed to be real wine.

3. Pour a little into a glass, shake it vigorously, and if it has a pleasant fruity aroma and obvious clinging to the glass, then it is a good wine. Although counterfeiters can make fake wine cling to the glass, wine that clings to the glass does not necessarily mean it is a good wine, but good wine will definitely cling to the glass.

4. When you drink good wine, it leaves a lingering fragrance in your mouth and tongue, and makes your stomach feel warm, your hands and feet feel warm, and you don’t get a headache. This is the standard of a good wine. If you feel a headache, dizziness, chills, and stomach discomfort after drinking it, it is industrially blended liquor. Do not drink it as it is poisonous.

Drop a small amount of red wine on a white paper towel and observe the trace left after the wine is absorbed by the paper towel. If a uniform red trace is left, the wine is relatively pure. If you see traces of wine that are very light but even in color, the wine is not pure enough. If there is a circle of red but the middle is light or colorless, the wine may be fake.

After smelling the wine for the first time, shake the glass to make the wine move in a circular motion to release the less volatile substances and smell it for the second time. The second smelling includes two stages: the first stage is to smell the aroma immediately after the "disc" at the still surface of the liquid is broken. This shaking can increase the contact area between the wine and the air, thereby promoting the release of aromatic substances. The second stage is to smell the wine after shaking. The circular motion of the wine moistens the inner wall of the wine glass and fills its upper part with volatile substances, making its aroma the most intense and elegant.
