The dangers of lactic acid accumulation

The dangers of lactic acid accumulation

When running, some people feel their legs are very light and they run very easily, while others feel their bodies are very heavy and they cannot move their legs, increase their speed or run at all. If there is no disease, then we should consider whether this is caused by lactic acid accumulation. Lactic acid accumulation means that lactic acid in the body cannot be released and accumulates in the body. Generally, long-distance runners feel body soreness after exercise because of lactic acid accumulation. So, what are the hazards of lactic acid accumulation?

Lactic acid is the product of incomplete aerobic metabolism in the human body. When sugar and oxygen in the body combine during exercise but are not completely burned, the substance produced by the incomplete combination is lactic acid. When the amount of exercise is too much or close to anaerobic exercise, lactic acid cannot be excreted and is difficult to decompose. The lactic acid concentration in the body will increase, which will cause lactic acid accumulation. Excessive accumulation of lactic acid will affect the muscles, causing them to become stiff, fatigued and sore. It will also make the feet heavy and affect our speed.

When lactic acid accumulation occurs , you should do the following:

1. Stop the ongoing training. Due to the muscle soreness caused by lactic acid accumulation, if we continue to train, on the one hand, we will not achieve the purpose of training, and on the other hand, it may cause injuries.

2. During exercise, try to exercise fully, avoid being too stimulating, and achieve complete aerobic exercise. Or maintain a certain speed, so as to minimize the accumulation of lactic acid, which will not be too uncomfortable and can also improve performance.

3. After running, we often go straight to rest and ignore the importance of physical relaxation. You should do some stretching exercises in time to stretch your legs thoroughly and avoid the accumulation of lactic acid caused by muscle tension.

4. Use acid-removing running to raise your lactate threshold. That is, continue jogging the next day after a long-distance run to eliminate the lactic acid accumulated in the legs, which can help our body recover faster.

5. In subsequent training, try to add some strength training as much as possible, which can not only improve our physical fitness, but also reduce the risk of injury.

In fact, lactic acid accumulation is not a bad thing. It is also a manifestation of our exercise. The important thing is to treat lactic acid accumulation correctly, then you will see great improvement!
