What are the types of hemorrhoids?

As people's living standards improve, the chances of getting sick are getting higher and higher. Hemorrhoids are a common anal disease. As the saying goes, "Nine out of ten people have hemorrhoids." This mole refers to hemorrhoids. People of any age may get hemorrhoids, and with age, the chance of getting the disease is getting higher and higher. It usually manifests as bleeding after defecation, pain during incarceration, etc. Having hemorrhoids can be very uncomfortable. So what are the different types of hemorrhoids?

1. Classification of hemorrhoids

1. Vascular swelling type: The surface mucosa of internal hemorrhoids is rough and soft, dark red or vermilion in color, and easily bleeds when touched. Bleeding is the main symptom of this type.

2. Varicose vein type: The surface of internal hemorrhoids is hard, shiny, dark red or purple in color, and the inside of the hemorrhoids contains varicose hemorrhoidal veins and proliferating connective tissue.

3. Fibrosis type: The surface of internal hemorrhoids is hard and elastic, with a slight proliferation of white fibrous tissue on the surface of hemorrhoids. It is easy to fall out but not easy to bleed.

4. Thrombosed external hemorrhoids: The main characteristics of the disease are sudden onset, severe pain, obvious discomfort and swelling, and occasionally systemic symptoms. Local examination revealed a raised swelling near the anus and a hard and slippery mass under the skin, which was obviously tender.

5. Inflammatory external hemorrhoids: often caused by anal skin damage and infection, often with anal pain, aggravated pain during defecation, blood in the stool, and a small amount of secretions in the anus. Local examination reveals a raised mass near the anus, which is red, obviously congested, and tender, and is sometimes accompanied by general discomfort and fever.

6. Varicose external hemorrhoids: The edge of the anus is raised into an oval shape, which is soft and painless to the touch. Dark purple lumps can be seen when straining during bowel movements. The size may shrink after bowel movements or rest. It is caused by subcutaneous varicose veins and is also caused by the development of late-stage internal hemorrhoids. Generally, you only feel swelling and discomfort, which worsens during defecation and pain occurs when inflammation occurs.

2. Food therapy:

Eat more fruits and vegetables, such as celery, spinach, watermelon, pears, bananas, apples, wild rice stems, etc.; keep the bowels open to reduce the blood stasis and expansion of hemorrhoids. Do not eat spicy or greasy food; drink less alcohol, whether it is rice wine, white wine, or beer. Spicy foods such as mustard, chili, hot sauce, ginger, onion, garlic, fennel, etc. will affect the bleeding and congestion of hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoid patients should eat less or no spicy foods and do not smoke.

3. Sitz bath therapy :

Sitz bath method to prevent hemorrhoids. Take a sitz bath with hot water regularly every day, and consciously contract the anus at the same time. This can enhance the function of the anal sphincter, improve local blood flow, soften local tissues, and greatly relieve hemorrhoid problems. If combined with drug treatment, it has a very good effect on hemorrhoids. There are three ways of taking a sitz bath: one is a sitz bath in light salt water, one is a sitz bath in pepper water, and the other is a sitz bath in potassium permanganate. For light salt water, the ratio is 0.9%, which is the concentration of normal saline, 9g of salt for 1000ml of water; Sichuan peppercorns are added with boiling water at a ratio of 2000ml of water: 100g of Sichuan peppercorns for fumigation and washing; potassium permanganate is used for sitting bath at a ratio of 5000ml of water: 1g of potassium permanganate. When taking a sitz bath, the temperature should be controlled at around 40 degrees and the time should be controlled at 10-20 minutes, not too long.
