What is the best way to treat a cough?

Cough is a very common disease and also a symptom caused by respiratory diseases. Although coughing can prevent respiratory infections to a certain extent, it can also cause harm to the human body in many ways. For example, long-term coughing can affect the patient's sleep, cause vomiting and physical exhaustion, and even increase the burden on the heart and cause respiratory bleeding. Therefore, once you have a cough, you must seek timely treatment. There are many ways to treat a cough. In addition to going to the hospital, you can also treat a cough by taking some lung-moistening and cough-relieving recipes. Below, I will introduce to you three recipes for treating coughs, namely: radish honey drink, lily honey and steamed pear with Fritillaria cirrhosa.

1. Radish and honey drink (for cough)

Ingredients: 5 slices of white radish, 3 slices of ginger, 3 dates, and 30 grams of honey.

Preparation and administration: Boil radish, ginger and jujube in appropriate amount of water for about 30 minutes, remove the residue, add honey and boil again. Take while warm. 1 to 2 times a day.

Function and indications: Radish tastes spicy and sweet, and is cool in nature. It has the effects of clearing away heat and promoting body fluid, cooling blood and stopping bleeding, and resolving phlegm and relieving cough. Its alcohol extract has a strong antibacterial effect on Gram-positive bacteria. Ginger is a commonly used medicine for dispelling wind and cold, stopping vomiting and relieving gas. Jujubes are mostly used to harmonize the stomach, nourish blood and harmonize medicines. Honey moisturizes and relieves cough. This drink can dispel cold, clear the lungs, dispel wind and relieve cough. For the treatment of colds and coughs, it is better to treat them with wind-cold and cough.

Note: This product can be tried on weak infants who are prone to frequent colds and coughs, or whose symptoms cannot be cured or persist for a long time. However, it is not suitable for patients with wind-heat cough, fever and yellow sputum.

2. Lily honey (specially for: cough)

Ingredients: 60 grams of lily and 30 grams of honey.

Preparation and administration: Wash and dry the lilies, mix well with honey, and steam them in a pot. This honey-cooked lily can be used as a snack for babies.

Indications and functions: Lily tastes sweet and slightly bitter, and is slightly cold in nature. It has the effects of moistening the lungs and relieving cough, clearing the heart and calming the nerves. Contains starch, protein, fat, various alkalis, calcium, phosphorus, iron and other ingredients. Pharmacological tests have shown that its decoction has an antitussive effect on children's cough caused by ammonia, and can counteract toad spider asthma caused by histamine. Use with honey to enhance its lung-moistening and cough-relieving effects. It is suitable for treating chronic bronchitis in infants, dry cough in the throat, especially dry cough after the beginning of autumn, accompanied by constipation.

Note: It is not suitable for infants with spleen deficiency and loose stools. This method is easy to take and is suitable for use in autumn and winter.

3. Steamed pear with Fritillaria cirrhosa (specially for: cough)

Ingredients: one snow pear or duck pear, 6 grams of Fritillaria cirrhosa, and 20 grams of rock sugar.

Preparation and administration: Cut the pear at the stem, hollow out and remove the core, then grind the Fritillaria cirrhosa into powder. Put it into the pear and use a toothpick to restore and secure the handle. Put rock sugar in a large bowl, add a small amount of water, and steam for half an hour. Eat the steamed pear with the Fritillaria cirrhosa in it.

Indications and functions: Fritillaria is a good medicine for resolving phlegm and relieving cough. When used together with snow pear and rock sugar, it has the effects of resolving phlegm and relieving cough, moistening the lungs and nourishing yin. Treats chronic cough, excessive sputum, dry throat, shortness of breath and fatigue.

Note: This is a commonly used folk prescription. Infants with long-term cough are mostly suffering from chronic bronchitis. This prescription is mild in nature and suitable for weak children with long-term cough. It is not suitable for patients with external infection. This prescription uses authentic medicinal material Fritillaria cirrhosa for its best effect.
