What are some ways to prevent mice?

Everyone knows the animal called rat. Many people in cities may rarely encounter rats, but in rural areas, rats can often be found. Rats are very harmful, for example, they will eat farmers' crops, so people will look for various ways to kill rats. In fact, for animals like rats, the best way is prevention. So what scientific methods are available for prevention?

1. Prevention is the priority:

Rats are tenacious and reproduce very quickly. They can climb trees and dig holes. Almost any place can be their habitat. Once a rat infestation occurs, it is difficult to eradicate it. Therefore, preventing rat infestation is of paramount importance.

Rats like living environments that are hidden and have food. To prevent rats from finding habitats, we should develop good living habits in daily life, keep these places in the home clean, place items neatly, do not miss any sanitary dead corners, and dispose of food residues in a timely manner. This can fundamentally reduce the possibility of rats visiting.

For some places where rats can easily sneak into, such as garbage dumps, storage rooms, kitchens, granaries, livestock sheds, etc. You can sprinkle a circle of lime in the room or in the corners of the surrounding walls to form a barrier. If conditions permit, you can also spray some rat repellent and use baffles to cover the gap at the door to block the entry of rats.

2. Mechanical deratization:

If the rat infestation has already occurred and the rats have entered the house and caused damage, you can use some common rat catching tools on the market, such as mouse traps, mouse cages, sticky mouse boards, etc. The editor recommends using sticky mouse boards to catch rats, which are very effective and easy to clean up.

There is a skill to using mousetrapping tools. Try to put the bait in the middle of the mousetrap or at the innermost part of the cage. Mice are very smart. Since mice tend to move around in fixed routes, when placing mousetraps, try to place them along the mice's routes, such as in corners, nooks, under beds, under cupboards, etc. Do not place it where it is easy to be touched to avoid accidental injury.

3. Drug-assisted mouse catching:

If you find that the mousetrap is not very effective, you can try using drugs to catch mice, but you must buy rat poison from a regular place and put the poison bait at the designated bait station in the community. When using it at home, be sure to ensure safety and keep it out of reach of children and animals.

The editor recommends a unique trick, which is to use white wine as rat poison. You can soak grains in white wine and place the soaked bait in places where mice often appear, which will be very effective.

If conditions permit, you might as well keep a pet cat or dog (which will really meddle in other people's business) at home. They will leave some smells in the places where they live, which will have a deterrent effect on mice and prevent them from coming to your house.
