What is the best way to treat bedsores

Bedsores are the most common disease among paralyzed patients. The main cause of bedsores is a skin disease caused by patients being bedridden for a long time and improper care. Therefore, for patients who cannot move independently, family members must provide good care for them, and it usually takes one or two hours to help the patient turn over. So if you are unfortunately suffering from bedsores, how should you treat them? What is the best way to treat them?

Bedsores are a very difficult disease to treat in current clinical medicine. Due to their nursing characteristics, they require specialized caregivers to take care of them. In addition, there are no effective treatments to treat patients. Therefore, many hospitals keep a distance from patients with bedsores. Here is a list of the best hospitals for treating bedsores.

1. First, let us teach you how to recognize bedsores

Bedsores are caused by pressure and moisture, also known as pressure sores, and often occur on bony protrusions of the body. It is usually caused by the patient's physical weakness, low immunity, inability to move freely, long-term pressure and moisture on body tissues, and erosion by feces, urine and sweat.

Treatment of bedsores

For wounds that have just become red and swollen but have not ulcerated, turning the patient over is the most economical and effective way to prevent pressure sores. Depending on the condition of the patient, the patient should be turned over once every 1 to 2 hours. The patient should lie on his side with the angle between the back and the bed at 45°. In the semi-recumbent position, the head of the bed should be raised <30° for <30 minutes per time. Set up a bedside turning card to avoid dragging, pulling, pushing, etc. when turning over to prevent skin abrasions.

For those with blisters, cut the blisters open under sterile operation, disinfect the skin around the wound with 0.2% iodine, and then clean the wound with normal saline. Apply the decubitus ulcer moist compress to the pressure ulcer wound surface 3 times a day until the wound heals.

For ulcers: clean the wound, remove dead tissue and promote new growth, promote healing, and give appropriate treatment according to the condition of the wound.

Commonly used solutions for cleaning sores include normal saline, 0.02% furacilin, 3% hydrogen peroxide or 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution.

Treat the wound according to surgical dressing method. Apply Yu's/bedsore/wet compress to the wound with absorbent cotton 3 times a day until the wound heals.

Oxygen therapy uses pure oxygen to inhibit the growth of anaerobic bacteria in the wound, increase the oxygen supply in the wound tissue, and improve local tissue metabolism. After the oxygen flow dries the wound, a thin scab is formed, which is conducive to healing.

Method: Cover the wound with a plastic bag, fix it firmly, and blow oxygen into the bag through a small hole. The oxygen flow rate is 5-6L/min, 15 minutes each time, twice a day. After treatment, the wound can be covered with sterile gauze or left exposed. For wounds with a lot of secretions, 75% alcohol can be placed in the humidification bottle so that oxygen can bring out some of the alcohol when passing through the humidification bottle, thereby inhibiting bacterial growth, reducing secretions, and accelerating wound healing, and infrared irradiation can be used. The application of oxygen therapy to sore surfaces is low-cost, simple in method, has simple requirements for the environment, and does not require special equipment, making it worthy of clinical application.

3. Nursing

Let me give you a brief introduction. When caring for patients with bedsores, they should be turned over more often to avoid continued pressure on the wound surface. The wound surface should be cleaned more often, a clean and hygienic living environment should be maintained, bedding should be kept dry, patients should be supplemented with more protein and vitamins, and they should eat more fruits and vegetables.
