How to treat thigh pain

How to treat thigh pain

Many people will experience thigh pain. After experiencing this symptom, people usually find it difficult to sit or stand, cannot sleep well, and will feel intense pain if they move their legs slightly, which has a great impact on walking. There are many reasons for thigh pain: cervical spondylosis, cold and fever, diabetes, varicose veins, etc. Because this symptom has a great impact on our daily life, people are particularly concerned about its treatment. Its treatment methods may include physical therapy, drug therapy, etc., and it can be achieved through acupuncture, massage, and the use of anti-inflammatory drugs. The following is a detailed introduction to the treatment.

Generally speaking, there are two types of muscle pain felt in the limbs: simple muscle soreness and muscle strain. Muscle soreness often occurs after exercise, accompanied by a feeling of fatigue and weakness. Excessive exercise may also cause symptoms such as muscle cramps and stiffness. Muscle strain manifests as local muscle pain, with obvious pain when touched by hand, and is usually accompanied by muscle stiffness, cramps, swelling, etc., which affects the ability to move.

Treatments for thigh pain:

1. Hot compress

Applying hot compresses to the sore local muscles can promote blood circulation and metabolic processes, help repair damaged tissues and relieve spasms. The best time for hot towel compress is about 10 minutes. The water temperature should not be too high, about 42℃ to prevent burns.

2. External medication

It can be used in combination with topical analgesics, such as Voltaren Emulgel. Apply directly to the painful area and massage until the affected area feels slightly warm, so that the drug ingredients can be fully absorbed and reach the affected area directly to relieve pain quickly.

3. Take vitamins

Oral vitamin C can promote the synthesis of collagen in connective tissue, help accelerate the repair of damaged tissue and relieve pain. Vitamin E can reduce the accumulation of harmful muscle products (such as free radicals) during exercise, relieve muscle soreness during exercise, and reduce the degree of damage to muscles caused by strenuous exercise.

4. Do traction exercises

Perform static stretching exercises on the sore area, maintain the stretch for 2 minutes, then rest for 1 minute, and repeat. Doing this stretching exercise several times a day can help relieve spasms.

Thigh pain requires an X-ray to rule out femoral head and synovitis. Leg pain may be caused by lumbar disc herniation compressing the nerves. CT scan should be done to confirm if necessary. It is recommended that you first use conservative treatment, including a. local hot compress, three times a day, at least half an hour each time, physical therapy and acupuncture can be used at the same time, b. lying flat on a hard board and keep warm, c. if the pain is severe, you can take oral painkillers such as ibuprofen twice a day, one tablet each time, and take them after meals for better pain relief, second, if the treatment effect is not good, you can take minimally invasive surgery or conventional surgery, third, eat more vegetables and fruits, avoid spicy and irritating foods, stay up less late, exercise more, and improve your own resistance

Pain on the outside of your thigh may be caused by lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis, also known as paresthesia femoral neuralgia. Most of them have a history of low back and leg pain, so it is clinically believed that the onset of lateral femoral cutaneous neuritis may be closely related to the degenerative lesions of the patient's lumbar spine. It is recommended that you should eat more foods rich in vitamin B!

Precautions

After strenuous exercise, you should do some muscle stretching exercises to prevent muscle fiber spasms. If muscle pain has already occurred, try to reduce the amount of activity in that area to reduce irritation to the affected area. Pay attention to a balanced diet.
