What's wrong with shoulder pain

Shoulder pain is a common problem in life, and there are many reasons that may cause shoulder pain. Most people tend to ignore the role of disease when they experience shoulder pain. Of course, shoulder pain is also related to people’s work. People who sit in the office for a long time and concentrate on their work are more likely to suffer from shoulder pain. Generally speaking, shoulder pain is occasional, and massage can help relieve it. If you have these symptoms for a long time, you must pay attention to it. At this time, shoulder pain may be caused by an illness. There are many factors to consider when it comes to shoulder pain, and the main focus when treating it is to prescribe the right medicine for the condition. So what exactly is causing shoulder pain?

1. Shoulder pain caused by cervical spine problems

The reason why cervical spondylosis easily causes neck and back pain and limited neck movement is mainly due to compression and stimulation of the nerve roots. When cervical spondylosis causes shoulder pain, there will be a sensation like electric shock, accompanied by numbness of the fingers, cold limbs and abnormal sensation of the skin in the area innervated by the compressed nerve, but there will be no impaired shoulder joint movement.

2. Shoulder pain caused by shoulder muscle spasms

When the muscles are always in a tense state or we maintain a bad sitting posture for a long time, or read or write at a desk for a long time, shoulder muscle spasms are most likely to occur. The shoulder pain symptoms caused by this phenomenon are most common among office workers who often work in front of computers.

3. Shoulder pain caused by tuberculosis of the shoulder joint

Shoulder tuberculosis, like frozen shoulder, causes shoulder pain and limited function during attacks, but shoulder tuberculosis develops more slowly and is often accompanied by symptoms such as low fever, night sweats, pale complexion, and general fatigue.

4. Shoulder pain caused by shoulder tumor

If a tumor grows around the shoulder, it will cause shoulder pain or shoulder and arm movement disorders at a certain stage. The difference between a shoulder tumor and frozen shoulder is that the patient's shoulder pain will gradually worsen, and the painful area will swell locally due to tumor growth.

5. Gallbladder disease causes shoulder pain

Common conditions such as gallstones and cholecystitis may cause right shoulder pain. This is because the sensory nerves of the gallbladder and right shoulder overlap. However, when the gallbladder is inflamed, there will be a dull pain in the right shoulder and under the right shoulder blade. If in addition to shoulder pain, you also have symptoms of indigestion such as acid reflux, bloating, and nausea, it is best to go to the hospital to check your gallbladder.
