What are the treatments for bifurcated urine?

Bifurcated urine mostly occurs in men. Male friends are more careless and do not take this matter to heart. When the condition becomes serious, they will become very panicked and flustered. What causes this condition? Many friends want to know the answer. There are many reasons for this situation. Most of the bifurcation of urine is caused by temporary partial obstruction of the anterior urethra or urethral opening. Therefore, when male friends encounter this situation again, they must pay more attention to this condition and go to the hospital for medical treatment in time, and do not delay the symptoms. So how should we treat urine bifurcation? The following is an introduction to this issue.

The first treatment method

1. General treatment: Enhance confidence, eliminate mental worries, and control sexual desire, but forced abstinence is not advisable. Avoid alcohol and irritating foods, take a hot water sitz bath once a night, apply local physical therapy, and change obvious triggering factors in your life such as avoiding long periods of cycling.

2. Prostate massage: Regular prostate massage can promote the discharge of prostate inflammatory secretions. It should be done once a week. At the same time, routine examination of prostate fluid can also be performed to evaluate the treatment effect.

3. Drug infusion: insert a special balloon catheter through the urethra, inject sterile saline into the prostatic urethra and aspirate several times to absorb the purulent secretions, then inject antibiotics once a week.

4. Urethral dilation: For those with urethral stenosis or obstruction, regular urinary dilation is performed to facilitate excretion. When the bougie passes through the urethra, it can stretch the prostate opening, which is beneficial for gland drainage.

5. Periprostatic blockade: 80,000 units of gentamicin plus 1-2 ml of 1% novocaine, once a day, 7-10 times as a course of treatment, or 800,000 units of penicillin, 0.5 g of streptomycin plus 2-4 ml of 1% novocaine, 1-2 times a week.

6. Antimicrobial drugs: General antibiotics are not easy to enter the prostate tissue, which is one of the reasons why clinical treatment is more difficult. An ideal antibacterial drug must meet three conditions: ① fat-soluble alkaline drug; ② less binding to plasma proteins; ③ high degree of dissociation.

The cause of the second bifurcation

1. When encountering sexual stimulation, urethral secretions may increase and a small amount may flow out of the urethral opening. When the penis is erect, a small amount of secretions may also flow out of the urethral opening due to the squeezing of the urethra by the corpus cavernosum of the penis. After the urethral secretions dry up at the external urethral opening, the mucosa and skin on both sides of the urethral opening will form slight adhesions, the urination channel will be slightly obstructed, and bifurcation will appear in the initial stage of urination. After a large amount of urine flushes the adhesion, the bifurcation disappears.

2. Urethral stones: When small urethral stones block the external urethral opening, urine may bifurcate during urination, but this situation is often accompanied by urinary pain and hematuria.

Urethral stones were a common disease in the 1950s and 1960s, but are now rare.

3. Tumors or polyps in the urethral mucosa may cause urine bifurcation due to the local obstruction of urine flow caused by the tumor. This situation is also rare.

4. Abnormal anatomical structure of the urethral opening may also cause urine bifurcation.

Urine bifurcation alone does not indicate any problem and requires a comprehensive analysis in combination with the presence or absence of other clinical symptoms. If patients experience long-term urine bifurcation and cannot identify the cause, it is recommended that they go to the hospital for examination in time to confirm the cause of the disease before symptomatic treatment.
