How to repair lip scars

How to repair lip scars

Scars have a very negative impact on appearance, and this is a very troubling problem for many people who love beauty. Scars may appear in many parts of the body and may also cause poor skin texture. Lips are also a very important part of the face. If there are scars on the lips, they are very easy to be found and will directly affect the beauty of the face. Some scars will disappear over time, but some scars need to be removed through surgery or other methods. Scar repair must be done with a proper method, which is also related to the nature of the scar. If lip scars need to be repaired, the type of scar must also be considered so that targeted treatment can be given.

1. Skin flap transplantation:

A skin flap is a piece of skin and subcutaneous tissue with autologous blood supply, which is cut from one part of the body and transplanted to another part. After the skin flap is transplanted, a new blood circulation is established and vitality and function are maintained. It can be used to repair wounds with exposed bones, joints, tendons, large blood vessels, and nerves after excision of deeper scars, or to repair unstable scars and depressed scars close to the bone surface, as well as cleft lip scars in areas that require special requirements such as good sensation and wear resistance.

2. Excision and direct suture:

The method is simple, causes little damage, and is only suitable for cleft lip scars with a narrow range.

3. Skin graft:

Autologous skin grafts are cut to repair larger cleft lip scars and the wound surface after excision. Because the skin is relatively thin, it may become dry, fragile, lack elasticity, be not resistant to abrasion and pressure, be easily damaged, darken in color, and have wrinkled skin after it survives.

4. Scar treatment by dermabrasion:

A cooling agent is applied to the affected area to numb the skin and firm its surface, which is then polished with a rotating stainless steel wheel studded with tiny industrial diamonds. The raised edges of the scar can be smoothed, and the base can also be smoothed, so that the center is enlarged and the skin surface is flattened. The freckle removal method can turn a deep box into a flat valley.
