Can brushing make your teeth whiter?

Many friends probably think that brushing teeth is something everyone has to do every day, but I believe many people want to know how to brush their teeth to make them white. Normal brushing actually only removes some dirt on the teeth, and the color of the teeth themselves will appear light yellow. If any of your friends want to whiten their teeth, they can use baking soda to do it. This will have a stronger effect in removing dirt and the white color will be more obvious. If you want your teeth to be whiter, you must know how to take good care of your teeth.

How to brush your teeth to make them whiter?

1. The correct way to brush your teeth. Keep brushing your teeth the same way every day. Some oral health professionals believe this helps patients remember to brush every corner of their mouth. If you can do it every day, it will gradually become a subconscious behavior. For example, start with the maxillary teeth, brush the outer surfaces of the teeth from left to right, and then brush the inner surfaces of the teeth from right to left. The same is true when brushing your lower teeth.

2. Brush your teeth gently. Brushing your teeth vigorously can cause your gums to recede. Plaque clings to your teeth like jam on a wooden spoon. Rinsing your mouth won't completely remove plaque, but gentle brushing can. Once plaque hardens into tartar, it cannot be removed by brushing. Holding the toothbrush like a pen can reduce the force of brushing.

3. Replace your toothbrush regularly. Once the bristles open, the toothbrush loses its normal cleaning function. Replace your toothbrush every three months. If the bristles become shiny, replace your toothbrush even if it's the first time it happens. If you notice shiny bristles before three months, you are brushing too hard. Try to brush your teeth gently.

4. Brush your teeth for at least 3 minutes each time. If you feel it’s necessary, you can set a timer to remind you, but you can’t shorten your brushing time. Of course, the longer the better, but two minutes is the minimum time to fully clean your mouth. Many people brush their teeth while a song plays on the radio. This will remind you to clean each tooth during treatment.

In fact, the effect of whitening teeth by brushing is very limited, because the plaque and tartar deep in the teeth are difficult to remove by brushing. We recommend that you have your teeth cleaned every six months to a year. Teeth cleaning can remove most of the tartar and plaque remaining in the mouth, which is very important for maintaining oral health.
