I believe everyone has experienced a cold, but often don’t know whether it is a cold or a wind-heat cold. Sometimes taking medicine based on previous experience may make the cold worse. This may be because the type of cold is not right. In fact, the cold we are talking about is mainly divided into two diseases, one is the common cold, the other is influenza. The common cold is also what we call a respiratory cold. This common cold usually occurs in early winter, while influenza is a respiratory infectious disease caused by influenza virus. It is usually accompanied by symptoms such as dizziness, nasal congestion, and fatigue. So what should you do when you feel dizzy, nasal congestion, and fatigue? The main symptoms of a cold in the early stage are: heavy head or headache, fear of cold, soreness and tightness of bones and muscles in the limbs, fever without sweating, and nasal congestion and clear runny nose. The patient feels no thirst, but has a severe cough. The sputum is thin and white, and the patient can observe a thin white tongue coating in the mirror. Diet therapy should focus on relieving exterior symptoms with spicy and warm properties. 1. Drink brown sugar ginger soup for mild cold Slice 10 grams of ginger, add water and boil, then add 15 grams of brown sugar and drink while hot. Ginger is pungent and warm in nature and can dispel wind and cold. If you accidentally catch a cold in winter, Drinking a bowl of brown sugar ginger soup will make you sweat slightly, which is indeed effective in expelling cold evil. But it is only suitable for patients with mild colds. 2. Eat tofu, ham and mustard greens soup for severe colds Cut 100g tofu into cubes or thick slices, and stir-fry with 50g ham shreds in a small amount of peanut oil. Add 1000g of broth and 10g of ginger and boil. Before serving, sprinkle 30g of mustard greens, pepper, and chopped coriander into the pot, season with salt, and serve while hot. 3. Mint porridge: Boil 15g of mint and wait for the juice to cool. Take 60g of polished rice and add water to cook porridge. When the porridge is almost done, add mint juice and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Take it when it is slightly warm, it is best if you sweat. Mint is an important medicine for dispersing wind-heat. Adding mint to porridge with rice and rock sugar can induce sweating and has a stomach-protecting effect. This soup is most suitable for those who have just caught a wind-heat. 4. Steamed pear with fritillaria and adenophora: Peel and core a pear, add 6g of Fritillaria, 10g of Adenophora, 2g of mint and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Put them in a bowl, add water and steam until cooked, eat in the morning and evening. Eat for several days. This soup moisturizes and relieves cough, resolves phlegm and clears the lungs, and is especially suitable for the elderly and children who have a cold and fever and suffer from yin damage. Symptoms include dry throat, severe cough, lung heat, yellow sputum, spitting blood in sputum due to pneumonia, or thirst due to loss of body fluid, and dry and hard stool. |
