What is the probability of rabies being transmitted

Rabies is a disease that sounds scary. This disease is mainly transmitted through infection. After it occurs, it will seriously damage the patient's internal organs. If the patient is in critical condition, it may be life-threatening. This is very dangerous. The development of the disease must be controlled as soon as possible. Rabies can also be transmitted from person to person. Try to isolate the patient for treatment, which is very helpful for treatment and blocks the possibility of infection. In addition, do not take it lightly after treatment. You can stop taking the medication only after complete recovery.

Rabies is transmitted in three main ways:

1. The main mode of transmission: The virus passes through broken skin. Rabies virus cannot infect through intact skin. According to statistics, 90% of infected people are infected by bites from dogs or other animals, while the infection rate from scratching the skin and being infected by the virus in the saliva is one-fiftieth of that from a bite, and the chance of mucous membrane invasion is even smaller. 2. If the hand is accidentally pierced during slaughtering or skinning, the wound on the hand and the broken nerve tissue in the meat of rabies animals may contain the virus, causing the virus to invade the wound and cause infection. 3. Infection through the digestive tract. Animals that died of rabies are buried underground and frozen in the winter. They are then dug out by wild dogs or other animals, which eat their meat and infect them with rabies. If people eat uncooked meat of animals infected with rabies, they may be infected through the digestive tract mucosa (the chance of this is very small). If the meat is cooked, there is no chance of this happening.

Rabies can also be spread from person to person. But the prerequisite is that there must be a rabies patient as the source of infection. Rabies does not bite people, but is a muscle spasm.

The main way of contracting rabies is when an animal infected with rabies bites a person, allowing the rabies virus to enter the human body through saliva. The rabies virus can also enter the human body through intact normal mucous membranes, or when liquid containing rabies virus splashes into the eyes and enters the human body through the conjunctiva, but examples of entry into the human body in this way are much rarer. In addition, examples of infection through inhalation of droplets containing rabies virus in the air are also rare, and this can only occur when the concentration of rabies virus in the air reaches an extremely high level.
