Will nephritis cause frequent urination?

Kidneys are very important organs in our daily lives. They not only have the function of detoxification, but also can regulate the balance of our body environment. However, the fast-paced life of modern people causes everyone to be under great pressure. If you develop some bad living habits, these will easily have a certain impact on the health of the kidneys. Some people will suffer from nephritis. Will nephritis cause frequent urination?

Will nephritis cause frequent urination?

In fact, frequent urination has nothing to do with nephritis. Frequent urination is a sign of bladder irritation, which is what we call the bladder irritation triad of frequent urination, urgency and pain when urinating. It is evidence of urinary tract infection and is not the same as nephritis. When people hear about nephritis, they may first think of it as a bacterial infection. But in fact, whether it is acute nephritis or chronic nephritis, it is not an inflammation in the true sense. It is not an inflammation caused by bacteria. It is an autoimmune problem.

Generally speaking, what we usually call nephritis is not an infectious inflammation like what we call inflammation, such as skin infection or oral infection. Antibiotics are definitely not needed for treatment. Patients with nephritis will not experience frequent urination. Frequent urination is only a sign of urinary tract infection. It can be cystitis or prostatitis. Even patients with prostatic hyperplasia may show frequent urination clinically.

Early symptoms of nephritis

1. Changes in urine volume

If nephritis occurs in the body, there will be changes in urine volume. If the amount of urine is much more than usual, especially when you often get up at night to sleep. Especially for those who usually do not get up at night, but now have to go to bed 2-3 times a day, they should be alert to the possibility of nephritis.

2. Gross hematuria

If you can see blood in your urine or even blood clots when you urinate, this is visible hematuria caused by nephritis. This situation must be diagnosed and treated promptly.

3. Anemia

Many people may not know that anemia is related to nephritis. This is because the kidneys secrete less erythropoietin, leading to red blood cell production disorders, thus causing anemia. When we have anemia, we often feel tired and have a loss of appetite.

4. Edema

After nephritis occurs in the kidneys, renal function will decline, the kidney's excretion of water in the body will be hindered to a certain extent, and edema will occur in our eyelids, face and lower limbs. If you press it with your fingers, there will be a dent, and the rebound is very slow. If edema occurs, you need to go to the hospital in time to find out the cause and prevent the kidney disease from becoming more serious.
