Gua Sha is a traditional Chinese medical therapy technique. After thousands of years of development, the effectiveness of this traditional technique has gradually been recognized by everyone, and more and more people are beginning to use scraping as a method to release toxins and other harmful substances from the body. The main area for scraping is the back, but can the chest also be scraped? How to do it? Let’s take a look at the explanation below. Gua Sha can treat many diseases and has various effects such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. However, because different parts of the body are scraped, the required skills are also different. In daily life, many of us are accustomed to only scraping the back. Doing so for a long time will cause an imbalance of yin and yang in the human body. Therefore, while replenishing yang, we should also scrape the chest and abdomen to replenish yin. Here are some chest scraping techniques: The operating order of chest scraping is to scrape the Ren meridian (i.e. the middle) first, and then scrape to the lowest end of the sternum, using the single-foot scraping method; then avoid the nipples and scrape the left and right sides horizontally. When scraping the chest, the contact angle between the scraper and the body surface should be small, and the force will be relatively smaller. The appropriate angle is 45°, and the force should be light. The patient lies in supine position, and the sha practitioner stands on the left and right sides of the patient and starts applying sha. (1) The practitioner applies a small amount of the medium on the surface of the patient's sternum. Holding the scraping board in the right hand, scrape the surface of the sternum from top to bottom where the Ren meridian runs. When scraping to the Tanzhong point, you can scrape a few more times to help replenish qi. Stop at the Shangwan point and stop when local sha appears. (2) Use the corner of the scraper to gently massage the Tiantu point (When massaging the Tiantu point, use light force, as the trachea is located deep inside this point. Using too much force may cause choking or even suffocation). (3) With the patient's sternum as the midline, the practitioner uses a scraper to scrape horizontally along the ribs to the left and right sides. The entire scraping board should be close to the ribs, with a small angle. When passing over the nipple (not suitable for treatment of breastfeeding women), it should go around until the local skin turns slightly red. Note : When scraping the chest, the angle between the scraper and the body surface should not be too large. The larger the angle, the greater the force. The chest is where the heart and lungs are located. Exerting too much force will affect and damage the heart and lung functions. It is not suitable for patients with severe heart and lung diseases. Scraping the chest can not only improve women's breast hyperplasia, poor blood circulation in the chest and other conditions, but also has a good effect on the treatment, health care and prevention of the heart, lungs, liver, gallbladder, spleen and stomach. |
