What are the symptoms of insufficient blood supply to the heart?

The heart is the most important organ in the human body and is the blood flow control center throughout the body. A strong heart can deliver blood to every corner of the body. Heart problems can affect blood circulation, so protecting the heart is a key priority in people's lives. The heart can also have problems due to internal reasons. Let’s take a look at the symptoms of insufficient blood supply to the heart.

The common cause of myocardial insufficiency is coronary atherosclerosis, followed by inflammation (rheumatic, syphilitic, Kawasaki disease and vascular occlusive vasculitis, etc.), spasm, embolism, connective tissue disease, trauma and congenital malformations. Important risk factors associated with atherosclerosis are hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, smoking, obesity, elevated homocysteine, lack of physical activity, advanced age, and male gender.

1. Symptoms of myocardial insufficiency include dull pain behind the sternum or in front of the heart when tired or mentally stressed, or tightening pain that radiates to the left shoulder and left upper arm, lasting for 3-5 minutes, and relieved on its own after rest, sometimes accompanied by profuse sweating.

3. Those who experience chest tightness, palpitations, and shortness of breath during physical activities, which are relieved by themselves during rest.

4. Exercise-related sore throat, burning sensation, tightness, toothache, etc.

5. People who experience chest pain or tightness after a full meal, cold weather, or drinking.

6. People who feel chest tightness and shortness of breath when sleeping with a low pillow at night and need to lie in a high pillow to feel comfortable; people who suddenly have chest pain, palpitations, and difficulty breathing when sleeping soundly or lying flat during the day and need to sit up or stand up immediately to relieve the pain.

7. Feeling anxious, chest tightness, shortness of breath, or chest pain during sexual intercourse or straining to defecate.

8. People who suffer from sudden bradycardia, low blood pressure or syncope.
