What to do about tinnitus? The latest treatment for tinnitus

Tinnitus is not a disease at all, but a symptom given by the body. With the faster pace of life, excessive fatigue, depression, excessive irritability, insomnia, decreased physical strength, increased stress, insufficient blood supply to the brain, and body inflammation have caused the incidence of tinnitus to increase significantly. After tinnitus occurs, there is basically no special way to treat it, and it can only be relieved by some methods. So how to do it?

1. Etiology treatment:

Etiological treatment is the preferred method for tinnitus treatment, with the principle of controlling the primary disease. In addition to ear lesions, tinnitus caused by systemic diseases such as chronic bronchitis, diabetes, liver and gallbladder diseases, tuberculosis and kidney disease should be actively treated for the primary disease; tinnitus caused by tumors in the neck should be surgically removed, and cervical spine lesions should be treated with comprehensive treatments such as massage, traction, plastering, and blockade. Tinnitus caused by adverse reactions to certain drugs should be stopped immediately and treated actively.

2. Drug treatment:

Drug treatment for tinnitus mainly includes two aspects: the primary disease and the non-auditory symptoms caused by tinnitus. Currently, the commonly used drugs include anesthetics, vasodilators and circulation-improving drugs, anti-epileptic and anticonvulsant drugs, anti-anxiety and antidepressant drugs, brain nerve nutrition drugs and the use of glucocorticoids.

3. Habituation therapy:

Habituation therapy, also known as retraining therapy or tinnitus habit therapy, is a comprehensive treatment method for tinnitus that is currently popular internationally. It was developed from the neurophysiological model of tinnitus by Professor Jastreboff of Empyrean University in the United States. Its contents include consultation and sound therapy (mainly including habituation training such as incomplete masking of tinnitus, relaxation training, attention diversion and psychological counseling), with the aim of allowing patients to adapt to or get used to tinnitus. Wang Hongtian et al. proposed that long-term severe tinnitus, tinnitus of unknown cause, tinnitus that cannot be cured for a long time, and residual tinnitus after sudden deafness is cured should be treated with habituation therapy.
