How to treat ichthyosis?

Ichthyosis is a hereditary skin disease, and it can seriously affect a person's appearance, so scientific treatment is very important. Patients must seek medical treatment in a timely manner, pay attention to their eating habits in daily life, and do a good job of skin cleaning and care. Only with the cooperation of multiple parties in treatment can they recover their health as soon as possible.

1. Ichthyosis can be inherited

The main cause of ichthyosis is an abnormality in a gene in the human chromosome, so it is a hereditary disease, but this disease is not contagious. In our daily life, the most common ones are autosomal dominant common ichthyosis and sex-linked common ichthyosis. These two types are mainly due to different ways of inheritance. As the name suggests, autosomal dominant common ichthyosis can be judged from the name of the disease. Its inheritance is dominant, because one of the chromosomes in one of the 22 pairs of autosomes is abnormal. This type of ichthyosis has the following main characteristics: it has nothing to do with gender, it occurs in both men and women, at least one of the parents is a patient, and when both parents are healthy, the children generally will not get sick.

Sex-linked common ichthyosis is mainly inherited to offspring in a recessive way. In our human body, except for red blood cells, there are 46 chromosomes in each cell nucleus, 23 of which come from the father and 23 from the mother, which are randomly combined to form 23 pairs of chromosomes, 22 of which are autosomes, and the other pair is the sex chromosomes that determine the child's gender. Therefore, the main reason for the occurrence of this type is that a gene on the x chromosome of this pair of sex chromosomes has an abnormality. Because the male sex chromosome is XY, the main male has a chromosome with a gene mutation and will suffer from ichthyosis, while the female sex chromosome is XX, so if only one x chromosome gene is abnormal, no symptoms will appear. Only when both are abnormal will they suffer from ichthyosis. Therefore, if it is sex-linked common ichthyosis, the chance of inheriting it to a boy is much greater than that to a girl.

2. How to treat ichthyosis

1. Ichthyosis is a very stubborn skin disease and is very difficult to cure. Therefore, you need to go to a regular large hospital for a dermatological examination, and then communicate with the doctor according to the severity of the skin disease to choose targeted treatment methods.

2. In addition to hospital treatment, patients should also pay more attention to their diet and avoid eating spicy and other irritating foods. These irritating foods will irritate our skin and speed up our body's metabolism, which will aggravate the condition. Therefore, in normal times, patients need to eat more vegetables and fruits, which can effectively improve the problem of rough skin.

3. Patients also need to pay more attention to their skin hygiene, wash their skin frequently, and change their clothes frequently. When washing the skin, be careful not to use too high a water temperature, and do not use shower gels, soaps and other toiletries with high alkali content. Pay attention to skin moisturizing, especially in winter and spring when the weather is dry. You can apply body lotion appropriately to effectively prevent scaling and skin itching.

It can be seen from this that ichthyosis is hereditary and genetic factors cannot be changed, so we need to improve and treat hereditary diseases through acquired efforts. Never feel inferior, because inferiority complex is useless. We need to keep working hard to change the status quo. I believe that one day the disease will be controlled and the disease will disappear.
