What to do with varicose vein pain

Varicose veins are very common in clinical practice. Varicose veins can cause certain pain symptoms. We must pay attention to treatment for the problem of what to do with varicose vein pain. Varicose vein pain can be treated surgically, but attention should also be paid to postoperative care.

1. The main clinical manifestations of varicose veins are bulging, dilation, bending, and even curling of superficial veins, soreness, swelling, and fatigue in the lower limbs, especially in the calves. After standing for a long time, the feet edema occurs. In the late stage, the skin of the calves and ankles often has brown pigmentation and eczema. If the disease lasts for too long or is improperly treated, it can lead to lower limb edema, local tissue hypoxia, skin keratinization and desquamation, and minor trauma can lead to poor healing, which can last for a long time and develop into chronic ulcers, commonly known as "old rotten legs." About 20% to 25% of lower limb venous diseases are accompanied by lower limb ulcers. This situation is best treated surgically. Before surgery, you must control your blood sugar level and maintain it at around 7.0. Also, be careful to avoid fatigue and standing for long periods of time to avoid worsening of symptoms.

2. Patients with varicose veins should lie in the left side position. When resting and sleeping, patients should try to lie on their left side, which is beneficial to the blood circulation of the inferior vena cava and relieves the symptoms of varicose veins.

3. Patients with varicose veins should wear varicose vein decompression stockings. Varicose vein decompression socks can help venous return and are a medical device for treating varicose veins.

4. Patients with varicose veins should not stand or sit for long periods of time. Because standing for a long time is not conducive to relieving the symptoms of varicose veins, you should try to reduce your workload and avoid standing or lying in one posture for a long time.

5. Patients with varicose veins should place a towel or quilt under their feet and raise the affected limb when sleeping. This will facilitate blood flow and reduce leg pressure.
