Is bloodletting and cupping harmful to the body?

Bloodletting and cupping is also a form of cupping. Many people don’t know much about bloodletting and cupping, and it is easy to make mistakes when cupping. Bloodletting and cupping have certain benefits to the body, but you must pay attention to the method. If the cupping technique is incorrect, it may be counterproductive. Of course, cupping is also related to each person's physical condition. So is bloodletting and cupping harmful to the body?

1. Bloodletting and Cupping

Bloodletting and cupping have many benefits such as promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis, removing toxins and purging heat, balancing yin and yang, and improving the body's microcirculation. At present, it is mainly used in clinical medicine to treat various orthopedic diseases. However, if this cupping method is used improperly, it will also cause certain harm to the body, especially for people with weak constitutions, who may experience various discomfort reactions such as fainting from blood and cupping, nausea and vomiting. In severe cases, the body may be infected with inflammation and the dampness and coldness will be aggravated.

2. Hazards

The hazards of bloodletting and cupping therapy mainly lie in unstable blood control. If a patient has a fast blood flow rate, it may be difficult to control the blood flow, leading to excessive bleeding. If too much blood is released, it can be life-threatening. However, if acupuncture and bloodletting therapy only targets local areas, it will not cause major harm and can still be adopted. Secondly, if you do not pay attention to hygiene during bloodletting, it is easy to be infected by bacteria. Equipment and instruments must be disinfected before they can be used. Because they are tools that are used repeatedly, they must be disinfected, otherwise they are easy to be infected by some viruses. In addition, the temperature should be around 20℃, and the patient should be in the prone position to fully expose the treatment area. If the patient is elderly or infirm, medium or small medicinal cups should be used.

3. Bloodletting and cupping time

If the patient can tolerate it, you can prick the original position every day. Even if you prick blood every day, there will not always be blood and waste, but it will come out very smoothly. When all the waste is out, you can't pull it out even if you want to. At the beginning, you can do the acupuncture every day. When there is not so much material, you can change to every other day or every two days. Later, it can be decided according to individual conditions. If there is nothing, you don’t need to do the acupuncture all the time. In the later stage, the nerves will become very sensitive and it will still be very painful when acupunctured. But it is better to do the acupuncture every once in a while, so that the invisible disease energy will be discharged faster without any garbage.
