1. To measure body temperature intraorally, place the mercury end of the thermometer under the tongue, close your lips tightly, do not bite with your teeth, and do not talk to prevent the thermometer from being bitten or falling off. Take it out after 3 minutes. Before measuring, you should avoid eating cold or hot food or drinking drinks. If you have already eaten, you must wait for 20 minutes before measuring.

2. When measuring oral cavity, first shake the mercury thermometer to below 35℃. Be sure to place the thermometer under the tongue, press it with a little force, and hold it in your mouth for 3 minutes. Do not talk during this period. After reading the degree, clean it with toilet paper as usual, and use an alcohol cotton ball to rotate from the tail end of the mercury thermometer to the other end of the mercury for disinfection.

What is the difference between oral temperature measurement

1. When measuring oral temperature, if you use a mercury thermometer to measure the temperature, you must ensure sufficient time, such as 5 minutes for underarm measurement and 3 minutes for oral measurement. Domestic measurement of oral temperature is generally expressed in Celsius, and the normal oral temperature is 36.2-37.2'C. The rectal temperature is about 0.50C higher than the oral temperature. The normal temperature of the armpit is about 0.4℃ lower than the oral temperature. The normal body temperature of a person differs within 1°C during the day and night, and is generally slightly higher in the afternoon than in the morning, and slightly higher during the day than at night.

2. When measuring oral temperature, if you use a mercury thermometer to measure the temperature, you must ensure sufficient time, such as 5 minutes for underarm measurement and 3 minutes for oral measurement. The time required for oral temperature measurement varies depending on the thermometer. It is recommended to read the instructions of the oral thermometer carefully before measuring the temperature. The following groups of people are not suitable for oral temperature measurement: infants, young children, patients with mental disorders, coma, oral and nasal surgery, and patients with difficulty breathing and unable to cooperate.

When measuring oral body temperature, be sure to read the precautions first to avoid inaccurate temperature measurements or the person being measured being unsuitable for measurement. It's best to sit in one place, not move or talk. The measurement time must be sufficient, otherwise inaccurate measurement values ​​will lead to a wrong diagnosis of the baby's health problems.
