What diseases cause arthritis

Arthritis is a relatively common disease. There are many causes of arthritis, such as degenerative arthritis, which is the most common type of arthritis and is often related to a person's age. Rheumatoid arthritis is also relatively common, and morning stiffness often occurs, causing fever throughout the body, etc. In addition, gouty arthritis, tuberculous arthritis, suppurative arthritis, etc. are all relatively common types of arthritis.

1. Degenerative arthritis:

Also known as osteoarthritis, it is the most common joint pain, more common in women and obese elderly people, with knee pain being the most common.

The early symptoms are pain in the affected joints when walking, standing for a long time, and when the weather changes, which is relieved after rest and is often accompanied by joint effusion, increased skin temperature, and pain at the joint edges. In the late stage, the pain in the affected joints worsens, there is a sense of friction in the joints, there are noises when moving, and the patients often limp, which seriously affects their lives.

2. Rheumatoid arthritis:

The disease usually starts in one joint, with the first pain occurring in the interphalangeal joints of the middle fingers of the hand. It can affect all joints of the body, often distributed symmetrically. The affected joints have limited movement and a feeling of stiffness, which is more severe in the morning and is also called morning stiffness. It may be accompanied by a general fever, and in the late stage, the joints often develop joint stiffness and deformity.

3. Rheumatoid arthritis:

The onset is acute and often occurs after a streptococcal infection, most commonly in the knees, ankles, shoulders, and hip joints. The affected joints appear red, swollen, hot and painful in a migratory manner. The swelling is short-lived and disappears quickly, leaving no joint stiffness or deformity.

4. Gout

Acute severe joint pain often occurs after drinking, fatigue or high-purine diet, with local skin redness, swelling, heat and pain. Patients often wake up in pain at night. All joints of the body may be affected, especially the first metatarsophalangeal joint. In the late stage, joint deformities and skin ulcers may occur.

5. Tuberculous arthritis:

It is more common in children and adolescents, with the spine being the most common site, followed by the hip and knee joints. During the active phase, patients often experience fatigue, low fever, night sweats, and decreased appetite. Pain worsens after movement of the affected joint, and sinus tracts may form next to the joint, with secretions often seen flowing out.

6. Septic arthritis:

The onset is acute, and symptoms of systemic poisoning are obvious. In the early stage, there are chills, chills and high fever, with the body temperature reaching above 39°C. The affected joints are red, swollen and painful. Patients often feel persistent pain in the affected joints, with severe functional impairment, and severe pain in all directions of movement.
