Can kidney stones be treated? What to do if the pain is unbearable?

Kidney stones are a diverse disease. Kidney stones will appear in the kidneys. At first, they are very small stones. As the disease worsens, the patient will gradually develop large stones. Patients with kidney stones should ensure a diversified diet and drink plenty of water to increase the excretion of kidney stones. When necessary, lithotripsy can be used to eliminate kidney stones through external force.

Common stones can be divided into five types according to their composition:

1. Calcium oxalate stones: The most common, accounting for more than 80% of kidney stones, are formed in acidic or neutral urine. They mostly occur in young and middle-aged people, especially men.

Calcium bisphosphate stones: account for 6-9% of stones, are formed in alkaline urine, and are more common in young and middle-aged men.

Triuric acid stones: account for 6% of stones, formed in acidic urine, stones dissolve when urine pH is greater than 6.7, more common in men.

Magnesium tetraphosphate ammonium stones: account for 10% of stones, formed in alkaline urine, the stones dissolve when the urine pH is less than 7.2, and are more common in women. Cysteine stones: rare, accounting for about 1-2% of stones, formed in acidic urine, and dissolved when the urine pH is greater than 7.0.

Drinking plenty of water can prevent and treat urinary stones of all types. In the hot summer, when the daily urine volume is less than 1200 ml, the risk of urinary stone growth increases significantly. If you can drink 2000-4000 ml of water every day, you can maintain your daily urine volume above 2000 ml. Magnetized water is more effective in preventing and treating calcium oxalate stones. The daily drinking water can be taken in the morning, between meals, and before bedtime. The amount of water you can drink in the morning can reach 500-1000 ml. In order to maintain urine volume at night, drink 500 ml of water before going to bed, drink another 300-500 ml of water after getting up to urinate during sleep, and drink the remaining water between meals. Drinking plenty of water can promote the excretion of small stones, dilute urine to prevent the formation of urinary stone crystals, and slow down the growth rate of stones.
