What is the matter with positive surface antibody?

What we often call positive surface antibody actually refers to positive hepatitis B surface antibody. Under normal circumstances, the value is 10mIU/m1. Once this number is lower, it means that the ability to resist hepatitis B virus is insufficient, and you need to continue to inject hepatitis B vaccine to make the body healthier; if the test value is greater than 10, don’t worry, and the higher the value, the greater the resistance.

1. Single surface antibody positive

A few single low-titer anti-HBs positive results are sometimes nonspecific reactions.

The normal value of quantitative detection of hepatitis B surface antibody is 10mIU/m1. A value less than 10 is negative, indicating that the body is not strong enough to resist the invasion of hepatitis B virus and needs to be injected with hepatitis B vaccine booster to improve the ability to resist hepatitis B virus. A value greater than 10mIU/m1 can effectively resist the infection of hepatitis B. The higher the value, the better.

2. Positive for both core antibody and e antibody

This indicates that after the body is naturally infected (including latent infection and overt infection) with hepatitis B virus, an immune response occurs, the hepatitis B virus is cleared, and the body acquires specific immunity to resist re-invasion of the hepatitis B virus.

3. Positive for both surface antigen and EGFR

This situation is rare. It can be caused by infection with different hepatitis B virus subtypes, infection with hepatitis B virus with S gene mutation, or low immune function that makes hepatitis B surface antibodies unable to clear hepatitis B surface antigens. In addition, a positive hepatitis B surface antibody sometimes also indicates that the antigen-antibody is in a dynamic equilibrium stage.

A positive hepatitis B surface antibody is good for health. It can protect the human body from being invaded by the hepatitis B virus.
