Herpes symptoms and diagnostic basis must be read

Herpes is a skin disease caused by herpes virus infection, which can be transmitted through direct contact of the skin and mucous membranes, sexual intercourse, placenta and birth canal. The herpes virus is generally latent and can recur. During the herpes period, pay attention to hydration and avoid difficult-to-digest and spicy foods. Herpes can affect your quality of life. Here are some herpes and its common symptoms.

1. Herpes symptoms

(1) Shingles: When the immune system is low or when one is tired, infected, or has a cold, the affected nerves and skin will produce severe inflammation.

(2) Varicella-zoster uveitis.

(3) Typical lesions of herpes zoster ophthalmoides are clustered vesicular rashes that occur in the skin distribution areas of the branches of the first trigeminal nerve (frontal nerve, lacrimal nerve and nasociliary nerve) or the branches of the third main trigeminal nerve (relatively rare).

2. Diseases caused by herpes simplex virus

(1) Neonatal herpes simplex is more common in premature infants, but can also occur in full-term infants. The disease usually occurs 3 to 5 days after birth, with symptoms including blisters and erosions on the skin, oral mucosa, and conjunctiva.

(2) Genital herpes causes a burning sensation at first, followed by the appearance of erythema; soon, 3 to 10 groups of red papules develop on top of the erythema, accompanied by itching; the papules quickly turn into small blisters, and then into pustules after 3 to 5 days.

(3) Herpetic gingivostomatitis often occurs in the oral cavity, gums, tongue, hard palate, pharynx, etc. It manifests as rapidly occurring clusters of small blisters that quickly rupture to form surface ulcers. It may also begin with erythema, shallow ulcers, and obvious pain.

3. Herpes diagnosis basis:

1. Various localized, raised, fluid-containing lacunar lesions that occur singly, in clusters, or scattered on the skin and mucous membranes of the whole body.

2. Varicella-zoster virus detection: Direct immunofluorescence, enzyme immunosorbent staining or ELISA methods can be used to detect antigens in herpes basal cell scrapings or herpes fluid, and a direct diagnosis can be made.

3. Herpes simplex virus testing: Antigen detection is performed using direct immunofluorescence or enzyme immunosorbent assay, a positive result indicates infection.
