What are the sequelae of fractures?

Many people have had fractures in their daily lives. For most people, fractures seem to need to be healed for several months, but if not properly cared for, it may also cause some adverse problems. The sequelae that usually occur after a fracture include femoral head necrosis, nonunion, etc., so you must be vigilant.

If the fracture is not treated properly, it will cause sequelae, including femoral head necrosis, nonunion, etc. These are all very serious diseases that are difficult to cure. Therefore, fractures should be treated actively. Next, I will introduce in detail the sequelae of fractures. It is caused by many reasons. The inevitable sequelae caused by the fracture itself include bone ischemic necrosis, bone development disorders caused by epiphyseal injury, etc. Other sequelae such as nonunion of old fractures, malunion, joint dysfunction, delayed neuritis and spontaneous tendon rupture may be prevented or their severity may be reduced to varying degrees.

1. The cause of the fracture is violence or movement of the old fracture ends. These sequelae are sometimes more serious than the fracture itself in terms of damage to the injured limb or even the whole body. Such as shock, infection (especially sepsis and gas gangrene), fat embolism syndrome, compartment syndrome, large vessel injury, visceral injury, nerve damage, etc.

2. Sequelae of fractures, caused by long-term bed rest and improper treatment, such as aspiration pneumonia, bedsores, ascending urinary tract infection, etc. This shows that the sequelae of fractures are still very serious. The key to alleviating and treating these sequelae lies in early diagnosis and early correct treatment. The key is to actively treat the fracture and prevent the occurrence of sequelae.
