What to do if gums blister

What to do if gums blister

Nowadays, people don’t pay much attention to taking care of their teeth. They often eat hard food or don’t brush their teeth at night. They often go to bed without rinsing their mouths after eating. Over time, they will find that their teeth are getting worse and worse. They also often have some gum diseases, such as blisters in the mutton. This is caused by bacterial infection and can be treated with some simple and effective methods. Pregnant women should be more careful.

treat

For patients with chronic gingivitis, after basic periodontal treatment, such as effective self-plaque control, supragingival cleaning, and subgingival scraping, the inflammation will subside and the gingival tissue can be completely restored to health.

Adolescent gingivitis is treated by cleaning to remove plaque and tartar, and local medications such as gingival pocket irrigation, local medication, and gargle can be used when necessary. For individual patients with gingival hypertrophy, gingivectomy can be performed if necessary.

Treatment principles for pregnancy gingivitis:

1. Remove all local irritants such as plaque and tartar, but the operation must be gentle to minimize bleeding and pain.

2. Consider delaying periodontal treatment in the first or last three months of pregnancy to avoid miscarriage or premature birth.

3. If a large gingival tumor during pregnancy has interfered with eating and requires surgical removal, it can be considered to be performed within 4 to 6 months of pregnancy.

4. Emergency periodontal treatment, such as local rinsing with 1% hydrogen peroxide and normal saline, or gargling with 1% hydrogen peroxide solution, can be performed at any time during pregnancy.

5. Use antibiotics and other medicines with caution.

6. Emphasize self-plaque control and regular periodontal maintenance.

7. Consult with the patient’s obstetrician and gynecologist if necessary.

8. Consider postponing systematic periodontal treatment until after delivery.

For patients with mild periodontitis, after basic periodontal treatment, the periodontal pockets can become shallower or disappear, and the periodontal tissue can recover to health. If no teeth are lost, there is no need for restorative treatment and they can directly enter the long-term periodontal maintenance stage. For moderate to severe periodontitis, after basic periodontal treatment, the inflammation can be basically subsided and the periodontal pockets can be shallowed, but further periodontal surgery, endodontics, restoration, orthodontics and other multidisciplinary combined treatments are generally required.

prevention

1. Pay attention to oral hygiene and develop a good habit of "brushing teeth in the morning and evening, and rinsing mouth after meals".

2. Have regular oral examinations, follow your doctor’s orders, and treat oral diseases promptly.
