Why do I have diarrhea every day?

Having diarrhea every day is something that cannot be ignored, because patients with acute enteritis are prone to show these symptoms, so patients must pay attention to scientific treatment, and avoid eating rotten and contaminated food. They must use reasonable and scientific treatment and medication, and pay attention to rest.

(I) Causes of acute enteritis: (1) Overeating, eating too much high-fat and high-protein food, drinking too much alcohol or cold drinks, or catching a cold. (2) Eating spoiled or contaminated food, such as unheated and sterilized overnight food, rotten fish and shrimp, stale crabs and seafood, meat products that have been stored in the refrigerator for a long time, and fermented and spoiled milk and dairy products. (3) Some patients may have allergic reactions to food. Acute enteritis is more common in summer, which is related to hot weather and easily perishable food. If we can control the risk of disease entering the body through the mouth, acute enteritis can be greatly reduced.

(II) Clinical manifestations of acute enteritis: (1) Abdominal pain and diarrhea are the main features. Most of the pain is around the navel, presenting as paroxysmal colic, causing a feeling of defecation, and the abdominal pain is slightly relieved after defecation. Diarrhea is mostly watery stool containing undigested food residues. Generally, people may have bowel movements 7 to 8 times a day, and up to more than ten times a day. After treatment, the patient will return to normal within 1 to 2 days, or at most 2 to 3 days. The course of the disease is relatively good. (2) Hyperactive bowel sounds. If you are close to the patient, you can clearly hear the "gurgling" sound in his stomach. (3) Some seriously ill patients may experience low-grade fever, nausea, vomiting, and dehydration. (4) It is important to differentiate acute enteritis from diarrhea caused by other diseases. Generally speaking, milder cases of diarrhea are usually acute enteritis. Other diseases require further examination in the hospital to be diagnosed.

(III) Rescue measures: (1) First, you need to rest in bed, keep warm, and fast for 12 hours. Then gradually take in a small amount of liquid food, such as rice soup, lotus root powder, or porridge, noodle soup, etc., and slowly resume a normal diet. (2) Appropriate analgesics and antidiarrhea measures. Take belladonna tablets orally. If the diarrhea is severe, you can eat some toasted steamed bread slices or rice porridge to astringe and stop diarrhea. (3) Encourage drinking plenty of water. For details, please see “First Aid Measures for Acute Gastritis”. (4) Patients with mild symptoms do not need to take anti-inflammatory drugs. Generally, drugs such as lactase, berberine, and norfloxacin can be used. (5) Patients with severe diarrhea and dehydration should be sent to the hospital promptly for intravenous infusion treatment.
