How to treat Helicobacter pylori positive?

Helicobacter pylori is a common bacterium that has a great impact on human health, and many people want to know how to treat Helicobacter pylori positivity. Generally speaking, Helicobacter pylori positivity is treated with medication, and attention should also be paid to dietary regulation.

1. The treatment options for Helicobacter pylori positive include two categories, which are basically commonly used drugs. One is a bismuth-based option, and the other is a proton pump inhibitor-based option. In addition, there are two antibiotics, the most commonly used is amoxicillin, and the other is metronidazole. These three options are the ones we often use. For gastritis or for those with poor economic conditions, this option is easier to use, and the effect can reach 80% eradication. This option is not suitable for patients who are allergic to penicillin. Those who are allergic to penicillin can switch to tetracycline drugs, which are also more effective against Helicobacter pylori. Use metronidazole for one week. If you have gastric ulcers, you can add ranitidine or famotidine; the other is Losec. If you are allergic to penicillin, you can switch to tetracycline, and metronidazole can be replaced with clarithromycin.

2. Eating habits: Helicobacter pylori is contagious. Based on the fact that Helicobacter pylori has familial clustering and a high incidence in developing countries, it is speculated that its main mode of transmission is through the digestive tract. Therefore, people who test positive for Helicobacter pylori should pay attention to their eating habits, avoid eating hot, spicy, greasy or other foods that irritate the stomach, and eat more light meals, vegetables and fruits.

3. Avoid taking medicines: Helicobacter pylori-positive patients must not take non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs that damage the gastric mucosa, such as aspirin, phenylbutazone, etc.
