As we all know, arterial embolism is very harmful to people's health. Therefore, it is very important for people to understand the causes of arterial embolism and take timely prevention measures. So what is the cause of arterial embolism? In fact, there are three types. The first cause is cardiac cause. 1. Cardiogenic Many reports indicate that the most common cause of peripheral arterial embolism is cardiogenic. In 1977, Fogarty reported 338 cases of arterial embolism, of which 94% were from heart disease and 77% were accompanied by atrial fibrillation. In recent years, the nature of cardiac sources and the corresponding incidence rates have changed. Rheumatic heart disease is no longer as dominant as before. Instead, arteriosclerosis and myocardial infarction play a more important role. Atherosclerotic coronary heart disease, including myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation, congestive heart failure and ventricular aneurysm, accounts for about 60%, and rheumatic heart disease accounts for 20%. Both rheumatic heart disease and coronary heart disease involve thrombosis in the left heart. In rheumatic heart disease, especially mitral stenosis, the blood flow in the atrium is stagnant and coupled with the rheumatic and thermal lesions of the endocardium, the fibers in the blood easily adhere to the atrial wall to form thrombi. Coronary heart disease, especially when myocardial infarction occurs, the left ventricle is enlarged, the contraction is weak, and blood cannot be emptied, is more likely to cause thrombosis. 2. There have been increasing reports of vascular aneurysms and embolism caused by atherosclerotic atherosclerotic material during arteriosclerosis. Large emboli may result from a mixture of large atheromatous material, thrombus, and cholesterol crystals that are detached into the arterial circulation. Small emboli are caused by the release of cholesterol crystals or by the shedding of ulcerative arteriosclerotic plaques. 3. Iatrogenicity: In recent years, the widespread use of artificial heart valve replacement and artificial blood vessel transplantation, pacemaker placement, arterial angiography, arteriovenous fistula for hemodialysis, intra-arterial catheter, and aortic counterpulsation balloon catheter may all cause arterial embolism. |
