What are the treatments for stiff neck?

Many people think that stiff neck is just a lifestyle behavior, but Japanese stiff neck is also a disease. The symptoms of stiff neck usually appear after getting up. There are many treatments for stiff neck, among which massage is very effective. When massaging for stiff neck, you must pay attention to finding the correct acupoints.

1. Press and rub Fengchi and Jianjing points. Use the tip of your middle finger to press the Fengchi point (the depression below the high bone behind the ear) until you feel a sore and swollen feeling, then press and rub for about 1 minute. Use the tip of your thumb to push diagonally from the neck to the shoulder for several minutes.

2. Pressing method. Use the tip of your middle finger or the tip of a fountain pen to press the stiff neck point on the hand (between the second and third finger joints on the back of the hand), pressing from light to heavy and then light again, for a total of 36 times.

3. Finger-tick the pain points. Use the index, middle and ring fingers of your left hand to search for tender points at the affected area. When you feel cord-like painful muscles on the shoulder or neck, push them horizontally with force to soften the muscles. Then turn your head again to find the new pain point and repeat the same process until the head can move flexibly.

4. Treating stiff neck with acupressure on Chengshan acupoint often produces obvious results. The patient lies prone on the bed, and the operator presses the Chengshan points on both sides with his thumbs. Chengshan point is located below the muscle bellies on both sides of the gastrocnemius muscle (calf) of the calf. It is located where the muscle bellies form an angle when the calf is extended. Select the acupoints on the side with obvious tenderness and use finger pressure method to the extent that the patient can tolerate. At the same time, ask the patient to move his neck, with the range of motion increasing from small to large and gradually increasing. The acupressure session usually lasts about 15 to 20 minutes, once a day. This method can save patients the pain of taking medicine and acupuncture, and has the effect of "curing diseases with just one touch".
