What are the dangers of arterial embolism?

What are the dangers of arterial embolism?

The harm caused by arterial embolism is relatively large. Once discovered, timely treatment measures must be taken. For example, it can easily cause acute myocardial infarction, or pulmonary thrombosis and cerebral infarction, which can seriously threaten life safety.

1. Cause acute myocardial infarction

When the coronary arteries of the heart are blocked due to increased arteriosclerosis or thrombosis, blood flow is interrupted, leading to local myocardial ischemic necrosis, it means that the human body has suffered an acute myocardial infarction. Myocardial infarction is a common disease. In my country, the probability of suffering from this disease among men over 60 years old is as high as 13.2%.

The most direct cause of myocardial infarction is blood clot blocking the coronary artery of the heart. Therefore, if you want to avoid this kind of problem, you must reduce the amount of blood clots in your body.

2. Cause pulmonary thrombosis

Once blood clots enter the pulmonary circulation, the consequences are extremely fatal. Not only can they cause pulmonary thromboembolism, but they can also lead to pulmonary infarction. According to clinical statistics, the clinical manifestations of pulmonary thromboembolism vary, ranging from only mild symptoms to severe shock and even sudden death. Pulmonary thromboembolism is mainly caused by blood clots blocking the pulmonary blood vessels, leading to blood circulation disorders, ischemia and hypoxia of the lung tissue, and finally causing lung tissue failure.

3. Cause cerebral infarction

Cerebral infarction is an extremely serious cerebrovascular disease. If the patient is not rescued in time, it will not only cause paralysis and aphasia but also lead to sudden death.

There are many factors that cause cerebral infarction, such as hypertension, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, increased platelets, etc. But the most important and main cause of the disease is thrombosis. These emboli from the heart and large blood vessels flow into the smaller cerebral arteries and block them. Causes ischemia and hypoxia of brain tissue.

Therefore, in order to prevent cerebral infarction, the most important thing is to prevent and treat thrombosis.

4. Cause lower limb gangrene

When talking about thrombosis, people will think of heart thrombosis and brain thrombosis. It seems that thromboembolism will only occur in these two areas. In fact, this is not the case. The flow of blood clots in arteries is irregular. It may spread to any part of the human body. According to clinical statistics, 20% of thromboembolism occurs in cerebral blood vessels and 10% in visceral blood vessels. Limb thrombosis accounts for 70% to 80%, and lower limb thrombosis is five times more common than upper limb thrombosis.

If embolism occurs in the lower limbs, timely rescue is required. Otherwise it will cause organ tissue necrosis and should be taken seriously.
